This product was recommended by my dentist. I used to use Sensodyne and Rx that were $50 - this is better! It really does create a 'shield' that helps soothe and protect your teeth, thus aleviating pain! And it does so while whitening. I do use Crest Weekly clean, too, and together, they work well. Other reviews are incorrect - the skin inside the mouth is NOT peeling off, this is just the clear product settling into nooks of the teeth and gums, and then sometimes you see it in your mouth. Wipe it out with a tissue if it bothers you. Me? I like knowing there is protection going on for my teeth. I definitely like the Enamel Shield Pro Health better than the Whitening Pro Health, it's got more sensitivity protection. Try it!

I've had sensitive teeth since I had a lot of orthodontic work done throughout my childhood. Now in my late 20's, I still suffer from temperature- and sometimes sugar-sensitive teeth. When it's really bad, I buy sensitive formula toothpastes, usually Sensodyne, but after a string of NASTY tasting Sensodyne pastes, I saw this and tried it. I've used the Pro-Health line of pastes before, but this was the first time with the sensitive. Must say I now remember why I stopped using Pro-Health: it's THICK. After just a couple uses, the nozzle gets clogged with gluey toothpaste, leaving just a tiny opening for paste to come out. At first it's OK, just squeeze from the middle for a thin worm of paste to come out. But after only about a month of use, the nozzle is so clogged, I can't squeeze ANYTHING out. The pressure from squeezing at the bottom, middle, top - nothing gets the paste out. I try to dig it out with my finger covered in a tissue, but that only removes a layer, doesn't unplug the hole. So I have to poke tweezers through it to unclog it, but then just one squirt to get the paste out clogs it up all over again.

It's too bad - the paste tastes OK, I like the light blue color; it's up in the air as to it helping my sensitive teeth; overall I suppose it is, but not the way Sensodyne seemed to. I don't know what kind of inactive ingredients they put in this Pro-Health stuff that makes it so sticky, but it makes it a useless product. I'm a lazy brusher as it is, but the hassle of having to squeeze with all my might and unclog for EVERY USE makes me want to brush my teeth even less. Time to try something else.

Comments about Crest Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste, Smooth Mint, 7.8 oz:

My dentist recommended this to me and said the "whitening" toothpastes actually strip enamel off your teeth and to not use. I find this to be wonderful at cleaning and have had no problems using it. I guess it is a matter of preference here, as I do not agree with the low comments. Try it and judge for yourself.

This is one of the best toothpaste I've used. It cleans teeth really well. It also freshens your breath and help prevent cavities. My dentist recommended that I switch to Crest Prohealth and he was right. It works well in all aspects. It is a little pricey, but it is worth every pennies.

This is the worst toothpaste ever. How could they let this on the market? My mouth is constantly shedding. Sensodyne is so much better. I thought for the money this was a better deal but not so. Crest has no business making enamel guard toothpaste! I want my money back!

I thought I was the only one or going crazy but it does give you a lot of saliva and it is like your skin in side your cheeks is coming off... it's a very gooey substance and sticks to your mouth.. I am throwing it out and not buying it again

I noticed that each time after I used this, the skin on the inside of my cheeks would slough off in sheets. After a few days, my lips were chaffed and raw. So I had to quit using it.
