I've heard some mention problems with staining (although this is primarily with the rinse, which I haven't tried as my dentist recommends Listerine) but I've had no problems at all. My teeth looked coffee stained after a few weeks and I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on till I started to research STANNOUS fluoride. The inside of my mouth started to peel also. Avoid this stuff like the plague unless you like a smile of a smoker coffee drinker. It's taking a few weeks of white strips and crest extra whitening toothpaste but they are getting white again. I agree and it keeps my teeth feeling "just left the dentist" clean and smooth. I use this with the Arm and Hammer Teeth Whitening Gel and the Listerine or Crest 3D whitening rinse. It uses stannous fluoride instead of sodium fluoride, which causes stains on teeth and doesn't really whiten at all. Whitening shouldn't even be listed as one of the benefits on the box. If you alone use it and are willing to take the time to thoroughly clean off the cap and make certain it snaps shut each time after use, you will have no problem. But if other family members will use it, switch to something with a screw on cap. My husband always thinks he closes the cap, but it never snaps because there is toothpaste in the way that prevents a clean seal. As a result, the toothpaste oozes out onto the counter, drawer, or wherever it is stored. I've tried cleaning up the cap so it will snap shut, but it never stays clean or closed. It is very messy and irritating! Pros

I can't give it 5 stars, though, due to the fact that I don't know exactly how it would work if I were to purchase a 6oz. tube of it. I can comment on the taste, though, and at first, I thought it was gross but then I started to like it..it's different. I don't know about the tooth staining..I've never experienced any nor any peeling of the mouth from this. it seems to work well. it's ADA Accepted, so it must be okay for teeth. Pros

First of all, it tastes horrible. I'm surprised not many others have commented on it. Worse than that, it leaves a gross, sour aftertaste in my mouth. Yuck. It also doesn't seem to clean as well as other toothpastes, and I've never seen any improvements as far as whitening or really anything else. I stopped using it at first because I really didn't like it, and am only using it now because I ran out of my other stuff. Also, after reading other reviews on this, it seems it can cause some really bad effects - discoloring teeth, causing peeling inside the mouth. No thanks! I will NOT be using this again. Pros
