I found out that cortisone injections are costly as well as a laser treatment. I have a keloid scar on my chest that is as wide as pencil and as long as your two front teeth. I've been using this for at least 8 years because my scar is scar tissue that continues to grow. It's becoming flatter and smoother. I can't live without this product until my scar is gone. It no longer hurts. It's no longer red. I use it daily. Cut to the size of your scar and apply. Wash it with soap and water daily.
Let it dry on a wash cloth and reapply on the cleaned scar. One scar pad will last me about 2 in a half weeks. Body heat will cause it to peel around the edges and it may not last as long. Once it easily falls off and no longer adheres, apply a new one.

I first used this product in 2007 after an unfortunate fall left me with a gash over my left eye/brow--this happened to be while i was traveling alone in paris, so i had no control over where i was taken and treated, i was very concerned about scarring on my face.

fortunately, my home doctor confirmed that the stitches were more than adequate, esp given the circumstances. (that is, my not being able to request a plastic surgeon who would do a seamless job.).

he did suggest that i use this scar treatmen to minimize the appearance. the formula for Curad's Scar Therapy at that time was excellent, professional grade, and adhered better than many used in hospitals---at least for its self-adhering properties (not always necessary for some surgical use when recovery limits activity).

i could wear the Curad all day w/o worry of it coming loose and losing benefits; it was also almost unnoticeable, and lasted more than one day. Added benefit, it turns out: dries up latent blemishes before they can rise to the surface!

fast forward 3 years, March 2010 when i got a gash on my nose. steri-strips (fabulous things) until the wound closed, then i enthusiasatically retrieved my remaining Curad Scar Therapy strips. As before, they worked great! even more important for this injury , which was much more visible.

I used up my former box and ordered a new one--naivley optimistic about the 'new, improved' product. It is truly terrible. It adheres only marginally better than your average scotch tape. which is to say not at all. Perhaps it would work well on an area of the body that is completely flat, doesn't move much, and secretes zero body oils. i certainly can't think of any place like that on my active self, so this stuff is the pits.

as far as the moisture transferring properties go, basic blister band aids by different drugstore brands achieve similar effects as the former curad product, though their thinkness makes them less pliable and less sightly. fortunately, a couple of those products match my skin tone well, so i've continued to where those--both on my diminishing scare, and elsewhere on my face for its drawing properties. haven't had a blemish since!

summary: don't by this stuff. complete waste of $ until curad steps up the quality to where it was before. as of now, enormously disappointing.

I love these products- they stay on overnight and they actually work great with zits as well! I'll cut one patch into smaller-size "pieces" for overnight zit treatments, and they're fabulous.

I used this product for two months immediately after my military administered smallpox vaccination healed. My scar is nearly non-existent, and when comparing scars with other individuals that recently received the vaccine, everyone is amazed at the appearance of mine. Easy to apply, stays on well, and really works! Highly recommended!

This is an amazing product. I had a very deep, pocked scar on my face. I used these strips, and after one week, the skin is all level and the color is improving. So far, so good. And it just keeps getting better every day.

Comments about Curad Scar Therapy, Silicone Pads, 21 ea:

These worked completely to heal a scratch mark on my daughter's face last summer. We use them at night and leave them on as long as possible. For bad scratches, they can be worn during the day. Although they are clear, they are cushiony, and about 1/8" thick. I think the people that said these are white may have another product.

These things are great. I have two scars on my legs since childhood. I'd used Mederma faithfully for several months and did see some mild improvement. I used these strips and saw greater improvement in a week! The strips are clear and even w/shorts on, very difficult for anyone to see. As long as you apply them to clean, dry skin, they'll stay in place a long time. I cut the strips to fit and will prob. end up with about 60 useable strips. Once I put two small pieces on the fine lines around my eyes for about an hour, and the area was smoothed out for several hours afterward.

My daughter was stung quite seriously by a sea-anemone in the ocean all across her thigh. We used this product for two purposes: one to help cover the ulcerated burn and to help some with the scarring. We were more worried about her infecting the wound since she is a small child. These were fantastic, they stayed on the moved with her so that she was comfortable during the healing process, which was two months time. We now use them for our wounds that are large and need longer healing time. We leave them on for several days, like a band-aid.

Comments about Curad Scar Therapy, Silicone Pads, 21 ea:

This product is PHENOMENAL. It truly does work as it says on the package. I haven't had any problems with it so far, and I've seen results in just 3 days! I had a second degree burn on my arm that blistered, and unfortunately the blister, (as they so often do), broke open. After keeping Neosporin and frequent clean bandages on it, and washing it in the shower with a mild face wash (Neutrogena Extra Gentle Fase Wash to be exact), it started healing quite well. Unfortunately, the area that burned the deepest did scar slightly. After using these Curad strips, this small, raised up, pink scar is now almost completely flat - in less than a week! I can only imagine what it will look like in 8 weeks. I'm sure it will disappear totally. Honestly, it is expensive BUT you hardly need an entire sheet. I got 5 uses out of one sheet, that's over 15 weeks of use! I love this stuff. HIGHLY recommended.

Comments about Curad Scar Therapy, Silicone Pads, 21 ea:

Since I just started using this product, it's hard to give an actual rating, but after reading many of the previous comments, I thought I might have some advice to share. I recently had surgery on a finger, and my doc ordered me to use these at night (in addition to massaging the area w/lotion 3 times daily) to prevent the skin from becoming tight and non-pliable -- forget about appearance! Anyway, RE: problems with sticking and removal: I've never had any issues keeping them stuck tight, but for those who have I'd be willing to guess that the area wasn't completely cleaned of residual oils (lotions, natural skin oils, etc.). This is very important! Wash the area well with an oil-free cleanser; even better, swab the area with alcohol just prior to application. To make removal waaaay easier, get it wet. I pull mine off (slowly) while holding it under warm running water at the sink. Yeah, it's really that simple.

I've been using this for a couple months on a button sized hypertrophic scar on my forearm. I do see a difference in that it is softer, and somewhat flatter. The color is getting better, too. I'm still hoping for better results, but that just might take more time. It also stays on much better than the Neosporin Scar Solution did, as long as you don't mess with the sheet while it is on. Luckily I've been able to cut the sheets to make the box last much longer than other people here have said. The only thing is that it's definitely not invisible like the package says.

This treatment works really well. I saw some difference in my scar in just a couple of weeks. They are easy to put on and wear. The only problem I had was they hurt when you get ready to take them off, especially if your skin is still tender or sore. I would still recommend them though.
