In my 40's and have suffered with adult cystic acne for over 20 years. Tried everything from Acutane to Retin-A and could never control stress-induced inflammatory acne. This product works great as my daily cleanser to thoroughly kill bacteria and clean my skin. It is a bit drying, but I always use a light moisturizer afterwards. Really helps to control breakouts to minor bumps here and there on an occasional basis. Finally something that cleanses well and does kill bacteria so helping to minimize inflamation.

I first used Cuticura for the first time in my senior year in high school (a long time ago). I have used it on and off for over 30 years and it has never let me down. It cleans very effectively but does not over dry my combination skin and protects with antibacterial ingredients. In high school I had moderate acne and between the Cuticura soap and Acnomel cream my face was clear
90% of the time. I still use it today whenever I have a rare and mild breakout.

Im an adult acne sufferer who's tried everything since I was 12--prescription, drugstore and designer brands. I have been using this for about two weeks and am really pleased at how it's dried up my current blemishes and either prevented new ones or minimized new ones to 1/3 the size of what they would have been. I do have a couple small pimples here and there but they seem to only last a day or two when used in conjunction with a salcylic acid product (compared to the usual 2-3 weeks). The bar is kind of hard to lather and does leave a soapy residue. Recommend using AHA toner after to eat up the residue. I have combo skin and found it a bit drying, but adjusting my moisturizer routine helped counter that because I want to keep using it. I use with my Clarisonic Mia and overall would recommend!

I had high hopes for this soap but everytime I use it my face gets so dry and it seems to take more effort to get it back to moisturized state again. Dry and scaly look that is how dry it gets yuck!! I have somewhat sensitive skin but can take other products without that drying issue. I wanted to like this product, I did!

I really did love this soap and I still do as a bath soap, hand soap. I have found it to be truly soothing and I love the clean scent. That said, overall this soap was not effective for me on my adult acne nor did it help in any way with my oily t-zone. I've been using it for about a month and the real test was during my monthly menstrual period which just ended and is when I get the worst breakouts with my skin at its most oily. I had a very bad breakout and my skin is super, super oily. I had to resort to using some of my son's proactiv just to get a little control over the breakout, but proactive also does nothing to help control my oily skin either. In fact, I have yet to find ANY product that does and at 41 yrs old my adult acne seems to be getting worse. Bottom line, I was really pulling for this soap as an acne cleanser and while it wasn't effective for my acne I would still highly recommend for those with mild acne and normal to dry skin, as well as for a bath soap. Very, very soothing and non-irritating as a bath soap and my skin is very soft afterwards so much so that I don't need to use a body moisturizer, so that's why I'm still gonna give this soap a 4 star.

Received this bar of soap three days ago. I was very skeptical and very nervous to even try it. For the first 20 mins. after I washed my face, my skin felt tight, so I became a bit more nervous. I thought this would disappoint as most products do for those of us with stubborn adult acne. Much to my surprise, all of a sudden my skin was super soft. As the day went on my skin continued to improve. It became clearer and smoother. I used it again before bed. When I awoke my skin appeared softer, smoother and clearer still. And, the best part...not a hint of new blemishes/acne. My forehead and nose still had some oil, but not as much as usual. It seems as if the ingredients in this soap zone in on any acne, semi-dried up acne and even any general irritation on the skin. I had semi-dried up acne marks that would not go away and after a few days they are all almost completely gone. I love this soap!! Love the smell! Personally, I do not like overly fruity or overpowering scents. I found this soap to have a "clean", light scent which I imagine is the clove that others have mentioned. Even my hands are softer, so I plan to use this soap on my entire body as well. I sure hope the other shoe doesn't drop, but so far I am loving this product. And, the price as compared to the many other products is unbelievable. I would definitely say it is well worth trying. Now, I'm off to hunt for a light daytime moisturizer to use with it. For me using a moisturizer during the day helps control oil on my t-zone, but I have yet to find one that doesn't cause breakouts.
