Bought this a few months ago. When I received it the smell was outrageous. Apparently it is rancid.[...]So I was quite dismayed by this stinky soap.

Got this as a sample and ordered more. Lathers well, and cleans without drying. The smell is NOT lavendar, but not bad. Would recommend if your not looking for a heavy perfumed, good cleaning soap.

The almond oatmeal bars in this brand were fine, but the lavender had a rancid oil smell and nothing resembling lavender except the color. Most disappointing. I had to throw out a big boxful because the odor was dreadful.

I've bought this soap often because I'm a lavender freak and usually find the smell to be a very nice lavender. This last box was on sale and the smell is stale! So beware. I probably won't buy it again after this.

This is a very respectable soap for the price. Unfortunately, it just doesn't smell very nice (and lavender is my favorite soap scent). I wouldn't necessarily characterize the scent as offensive, maybe "old", like the soap has been gathering dust for a few years. It certainly doesn't smell like lavender! I've tried the Vanillia - Citrus scent, which is pleasant, but very faint. The Verbena & Chamomile is a bit stronger, but ultimately none of the fragrances I've tried are strong enough to mask the scent of the other ingredients in the soap. I know some (artificially) scented soaps can be overwhelming and perfume-y, and I wouldn't like to see this brand go that route, however I would prefer a more assertively scented (though still natural) soap.

That said, the soap is moisturizing and fairly long-lasting and overall a good value for the money, so if scent isn't a priority, this is a great brand to try.

The soap has dreadly orange spots which look like metal spots everywhere in the soap. It need improvement when producing it. But overall it is a rich soap bar which doesn't dry the skin.

This is a great soap. I purchased it because it is one of the few, inexpensive body soap brands that does not test on animals. I love that it has the lavender buds embedded in the soap so you can exfoliate daily without the harsh feel. Note that the lavender buds are a brown/bronze color inside the purple soap. At first I thought the soap was tarnished, but that is just the buds. Overall, great soap, great price!
