I bought this cough syrup for my two little children who often have nightly coughs from colds. It didn't seem to work at all. However, other formulas that contain the simple Dextromethorphan HBr as a cough suppressant in the list of ingredients DO work. But, you have to repeat their doses every 4-6 hours unlike what this product advertises (but doesn't deliver).
This is by far the ultimate tool for getting your kids- and yourself- through the worst of cold and flu season. Whenever he has a tough cold, the cough keeps him up at night and then he's miserable for days. With this, however, it quiets is cough ALL NIGHT and he can get the rest he needs. I don't think it gives him any unwanted side effects, and you only need one dose before bedtime. In this way it is also very cost effective. I've used it myself and it out-performs every other cough suppressant out there. I keep it in the house all winter.
This works great in getting rid of my sons cough. He tends to have allergies and a slight case of asthma and this helps him out a lot. He likes the taste and it doesn't take like "ucky medicine". Plus you don't have to worry about giving him something every 4-6 hours. This did make my son a little sleepy when he first started taking it, but he became accustomed to it and it no longer makes him drowsy.
