I had a really bad cold and bought delsym after seeing the ads. Worked well the first few hours.
The side effects of this product is not worth the hassle. I experienced dizziness and nausea. I took it the next day 36 hours apart and woke to sleep paralysis for the first time in my life.
If you're not aware of sleep paralysis try googling it.

MUCINEX works much better and was effective. Never again will I be fooled into buying medicine advertised from a commercial.

Does what it says. I'm no longer coughing. Only wished that they wrote on the box that it causes drowsiness and makes you dizzy. I can't imagine someone who drives taking this without knowing the side effect.

Overall works well perhaps only when you're going to bed.

Nice to take for just a cough. Other meds have anithistamines also and they make me cough more!

My pharmacist recommended Delsym to me and I LOVE it! It is the only cough syrup I will use. I love the taste - it does not have that nasty alcohol burn when you take it. The syrup is a gentle orange flavor and is thick in consistancy, so it goes down smoothly. I have asthma, so my lungs are quite "touchy" whenever I get a cold, which often turns into bronchitis. I find that Delsym is very effective in quieting or stopping my cough completely. I'm always skeptical of 12-hour effectiveness claims, but it is true in this case. I usually don't feel like I need a new dose until about a half hour before the next dose is warranted. I regularly recommend Delsym to my friends - it's great!

This was recommended to be by both my family doctor and our pediatrician. I can even give this to my kids and they don't put up a fuss. This is a good choice for daytime relief or nighttime relief, especially when you can't take OTC meds that contain pseudoephedrine or similar ingredients. It also won't interact with other meds because its only 1 thing, not a mixture of meds.

Delsym is the only thing that works to stop my 5 year old daughter's cough. My daughter has post nasal drip from allergies and she can be fine all day, but when she lays down to go to sleep she starts coughing. The cough can get so bad, it forces her to throw up. Delsym is the only thing that stops the cough and lets her sleep all night. It has a bad taste, but she's gotten used to it, and she can sleep all night without coughing. I highly reccommend it!
