This used to be a great product, no problems. It was easy to just form into a little ball and stick up into my tooth. But unfortunately, the formula has changed. It has gone from a nice molding clay consistancy to a glooey sticky mess. I have wasted 2 pots trying to get it to stay in and it either comes out in little balls and clumps or one big one.
The applicator is no help and just gets the product all over the tooth. Now when I try to form the product, it spreads over my thumb and finger like spackle. The whole ordeal has left me so frustrated and angry that I came here to try to find a new product. I contacted the company via e-mail over a month and a half ago and no one bothered to reply. So now they have lost my business. The product worked so well, I bought 2 extra packages. Now I only have a tiny bit in one pot because it was so difficult to work with. Too bad I didn't know they changed the formula before stocking up and wasting our hard earned money.

I've used this product for both crowns that have come off and for tooth repairs (chipped or broken tooth) due to decay. I think it works best for temporarly fixing loose crowns. It will hold for several days until you can get to the dentist. I've only had to use it twice for a loose crown when it was over a week before I can get to a dentist. For smaller cavities in the top or middle of the tooth it also works well for several days. It will stop the pain, however, a word of warning when you are pressing it into the cavity/hole and then biting down on it, it will hurt BAD! But once the initial pain subsides, it stops any further pain for 3-5 days. However, if using it do repair a chippied or broken tooth due to decay, it does not hold well (esp depending on the location and severity of the decay. If you are using it for this type of repair, it will only hold for 1-2 days at best before it falls out/off. However, with htis type of dental emergency, it ids best to get to the dentist within 48 hours, if possible. It is easy to use, although the excess is a little messy and it does not taste good at all. It is definitely a TEMPORARY fix to get you by for a couple of days until you can see a dentist.

Since this Dentemp product is one-step, it would appear at first that this is the Dentemp product to use, but not so. The Original Dentemp that you mix is by far the best and the one that lasts! Use it, not the O.S. Dentemp. Yes, it requires a little more time to prepare, but it is well worth the little extra effort in mixing the powder and the liquid, because it works!

If you have a toothache because of loose fillings and can't get to the dentist immediately, this is the product for you. I had a tooth that needed fillings, but couldn't afford to go to the dentist at the time. And then I tried this product.This product really works. It stop my pain and the filling in my tooth lasted for weeks. It felt like the real thing. My dentist said it was a good idea using it but only temporarily.
To Replace a Lost Filling: Wash hands thoroughly. Rinse out cavity with warm water. Do not dry; leave moist. Use applicator to remove a small amount of material from vial, form into a ball with your fingers and press firmly into cavity. Bite down several times to insure proper bite. Remove any excess material. Rinse out mouth well with water. Allow 1 hour to set before eating.
To Re-cement Loose Caps or Crowns: Wash hands. Prepare crown by carefully removing as much old cement as possible from inside of the crown. Rinse well. Clean and rinse tooth area with water and leave moist. Fit the crown back on the tooth before applying Dentemp® O.S. Make sure it fits properly. If you cannot do this, do not proceed. See your dentist. Use applicator to remove a small amount of material from vial. Place a thin layer of material (the thickness of 2-3 sheets of paper) on the upper inside wall of the crown. Place crown on wet tooth and press firmly. Bite down several times to insure proper fit. If the bite is not completely comfortable, remove and repeat all steps until the crown feels normal. Remove any excess material. Rinse out mouth well with water. Allow at least 1 hour to set before eating.
Note: When replacing a bridge apply Dentemp®O.S. sparingly to only 1 hollow tooth at each end of the bridge. Dentemp® O.S. should not be used on implants or posts without dentist's advice.
Keep multi-use vial closed to maintain freshness of remaining material. Any left over material may be re-used as long as the material is soft and pliable. Once the material hardens, it is no longer usable and must be discarded.
