It has the best ingredients I've ever seen in all my years of skin-care product shopping. Castile soap, coconut oil, goldenseal, and best of all : tea tree oil, all very effective for acne-prone skin. Plus, at 32 fl oz for only [$], this is a steal. I've been using this facewash for a while now, and it has finally reduced the last remaining blemishes I have from my acne breakout-crisis years ago. The downside is that the smell is a bit overwhelming, and the texture is extremely slippery--it feels exactly like soap and takes a lot of water to rinse off completely. Also, it's so runny that once, I made the mistake of not closing my eyes while using this on my forehead... and the result is that some of it dripped into my eyes. Man, it burned so bad that I thought I was going to go blind (the stinging subsided only after 4-5 hours later) so remember to close your eyes when washing your face with this. Also, I dont like the packaging: the design of the bottle is awkward and so hard-to-use, that I had to transfer the content out in an empty face-wash bottle I had lying around. but all in all, this is a must-have for acne-prone skin looking for a natural treatment. I was so surprised and impressed at how they measured up to everyday drugstore brands! However, this face wash smells horrible, burns and turned my face red. I also bought Kiss My Face Start-Up face wash and thought it smelled much better and also was gentler on my skin, while leaving it clean (even took off my mascara). I am surprised by all of the positive reviews for Thoroughly Clean. I don"t have acne, so perhaps it is just too strong/drying for my skin type. I also bought several other products with tea tree that smelled fresh and pleasant (e.g. California Baby). This smelled like something that you'd take your nail polish off with! So far I like how it cleans. BUT, I am frustrated, as this is a REFILL product and thus is a GIANT bottle (great value, though) with no way to really dispense it. You really need the original bottle with dispenser (or some other bottle to put it in). But this one is WAY more cost efficient, and I didn't even SEE the smaller version come up when I was searching for a face wash. I know this doesn't have to be a big deal, but I specifically shop online to save time/hassle and now I have the hassle of having to figure out what to put this in to use it. It's also pretty runny (not necessarily bad, still lathers well), so doesn't work so well just to pour out a little bit each time from the bottle. Pros

Just in the past few months I have used it on my Shar-Pei's feet. I have always used tea tree oil shampoo while bathing her, but she developed a horrible fungus on her feet and I was at my wits end! After finally getting the fungus cleared up we now wash her feet with Desert Essence Clean Face Wash anytime she goes outside. It is AMAZING!! I truly recommend this product to maintain WONDERFUL skin (human or animal). Pros

I've been used this product for a month and it has great effect! I've been suffering for acne for more than a decade and recently I took Nature's cure product and got healed but there are still lot acne marks and blemish on my face. This product helps a lot. My only con is that it could be so runny yet it deeply cleans well. Then again I remove all my make-up before hand and I use this as the last step before a toner in my cleansing regime. It is drying BUT that's nothing toning and moisturizing cant fix unless your skin is naturally dry. Anything that claims to remove makeup is probably going to strip your skin of all the oil that is on it from the day but I see that as a good thing since it's all natural. I recycled an old mist bottle to put the solution in and just refill it as I go. The smell is not very pleasant but it's not like its foul or anything it just smells natural. All in all I like this face wash and I'm purchasing my second bottle because you get a lot for you money and you don't have to worry about harsh chemicals. Pros
