Don't let the Deva CURL name throw you- it's just good in that it does not have added ingredients which could weigh down curls or add insult to injury with anything harsh.
Don't expect suds- that's the whole point when lots of suds can also mean harsh ingredients.

I wash my curly hair with NoPoo Deva Curl Hair Cleanser twice a week. Also twice a week, I cleanse my hair using just the Deva Curl One Condition hair conditioner. Since starting this regimen, my curls are healthier, my hair is softer, and my hair color has not faded one bit.

I use this 3-4 days a week, nothing else in between. I wanted to go truly no-poo but was afraid so I tried this line. My hair went really greasy for a few weeks but it looked wonderful! I was getting compliments from strangers and friends / family. After a few weeks the extra oil went away and my hair is fantastic! It is so soft!! It is shiny!! I use coconut oil as my conditioner but together my hair rocks for the first time in 33 years. Side note: if you use regular shampoo after using no poo for a while your hair will be completely stripped of its oil and it will take a few weeks for the natural oil balance to come back. I noticed this after ONE wash with the "old" shampoo.

I have very curly hair and always had difficulty with frizz. I learned about Deva from a local stylist. If you go on the Deva website you will learn about how using silicone seals the hair shaft so well that the moisture from the air cannot get in. This is a problem for curly hair because we need that moisture to keep our hair healthy. Using silicone causes the hair to dry from the inside out --causing chronic frizz. This "no-poo" cleans without stripping oils from the hair, which really helps the frizz. But the downside is that you might get an oily build-up over time.
I used the "no-poo" for a few months when I first stopped using silicone to help my hair heal. Now, I just use it when the weather is especially humid. The rest of the time, I use the "lo-poo" to avoid oily buildup. Look at the Deva website for more details on the product line.

I love this no-poo. It took some time to get used to useing it as I was used to a hair cleanser that foamed or created lather. There is no lather with this hair cleanser. It works wonderfully and my hair has never been healthier. I will continue to use it. Really great for curly hair.
