I have shoulder-length curly hair, that has thick, soft curls that can frizz and blow out of shape easily. This product is great to set my curls after a shower, and dries glossy and non-stiff. I use a TINY amount, about the size of a short pinky-nail, then emulsify in my hands and scrunch into my hair.

I also use Arc-Angel by Deva (about a quarter-size amount). Then air dry. Lots of body, great curl definition, shine-shine-shine, and no flakes, stiffness, or stickiness.

I made the mistake of trying to use Set-Up on my dry hair and it was a disaster: sticky, yukky, mess. Only on wet hair for me.

It has been wonderful to find a company that understands and specializes in curly hair care. I felt like I'd discovered a gold mine when I stumbled on no-poo shampoo and other Deva Curl products. I'm a new user for Set Up & Above, but I love it. After a wash and condition, I use this product to set my curls until they have time to dry. Then, the curls are curly and frizz-free; just like I want them to be.

I use this product everyday after showering and using DevaCurl B'Leave-In first. I have thick, wavy hair that tends to get frizzy and not hold curl very well, but this product is a miracle. I cut my hair to shoulder length to lighten it up, started using this product and now have pretty, soft waves/curls that last all day long. I use this on damp hair, rub it between my palms and scrunch upward, does the trick with very little product, couldn't be happier!

Set Up & Above is perfect for when I need strong hold and a shield against humidity. This turns my curls into spirals and holds them in shape. At the end of a work day, I spray with Mist-er Right to reactivate Set Up and Above and my hair snaps into shape. Set Up and Above is particularly good for "lift" on the top of my head, where I have a curl pattern that tries to be triangular.

I used the product (as directed) to hold and lift. It weighed by hair down and left it feeling gooey and greasy.

This was the one product that I wasn't in love with. I haven't found the perfect amount of product to use, so instead, I'm stuck with a sticky mess in my hair.

This is one of the few styling products that can be used when the hair is dry. It is not sticky or gunky. It holds well and smells good. It is a fantastic product!

i am so happy that deva curl is now carried at drugstore.com. these are some of the BEST products on the market for curly hair of all types. not always easy to find at a retail level, even in chicago, as only in salons that cater to curly hair. all natural, no crunchiness, no silicone. i use almost every product they make.
