I have rosacea, so I wasn't sure this product would work well. In the past, things like this would set my face on fire. These clean really well and do not irritate me at all. Also, this may seem like a weird use, but my youngest daughter does not have time for a shower in PE class. She takes these to school and wipes her face with one and uses another to get the sweat out from under her arms. They freshen her up. She puts on fresh deodorant, and doesn't have to go through the school day smelling like body odor. We keep these stocked in our bathroom. Many uses!

I had been loyally using Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent pads for two or so years when I came upon these pads on Drugstore.com. I was going to restock on my usual, but at a time that they were on sale, and had the added portability of these compared to Thayers was a huge plus, so I took the plunge. I bought a few boxes of these based on the positive reviews and thinking how different could they be than other witch hazel pads? Not the best choice I've ever made...

This product does its job (for the most part). However the Thayers Astringent Pads are far superior in nearly every way other than portability. These pads smell pretty FOUL. No, they are not intolerable, but I generally enjoy more earthy and natural smelling things and I still find the smell of these offensive, and more of a chemical/alcohol scent than anything natural. Not so offensive that I won't use what I have (although I did pawn off some of my supply to my bf who is just grateful to be supplied with anything that helps his skin with minimal effort on his part). And it can't be the witch hazel alone because the other brand's pads would smell just as bad. Thayers does add Grapefruit seed extract which may help the scent, but instead of adding anything positive to help the scent, it looks as though Dickinson's has added preservatives and a higher percentage of alcohol instead-yuck.

They also are not as effective as the Thayers pads in removing impurities and in their astringent properties. Yes, they unfold to a larger size, yes they are portable. Thayers pads although much smaller have a better texture and seem better able to really get the oil and grime. As horrifying as it is to say, you can SEE the difference.

Additionally, the boxes of the product that I had received had a sticker put over the 100% natural label on the box, which was replaced by the statement "with botanical extracts." So it looks as though this once natural formula is no longer, especially seeing that the box that is portrayed on here also has this updated message. How unfortunate. I will use the supply of these I have when I am on the run or just in case I run out of Thayers, but I will certainly not repurchase.

Our daughter in Virginia introduced this to us. It is very handy for freshening up and cleaning up away from home. We couldn't find it in local drugstores. Thanks, Drugstore.com!

These wipes are large, and I actually only use a third or a half at a time. Great for removing makeup. I always take them with me when I travel. I love the fragrance and the fact that I'm not putting a lot of chemicals on my skin.

I've used these towelettes for years, especially when traveling. They are large enough and have sufficient moisture to use in a variety of ways. I take them in restaurants and anywhere I'll need to clean my hands or face. I've even used them to wipe down our dog to get rid of dust and dander since the addition of aloe makes them non-drying.
          Great all-around cleanser!

Comments about Dickinson's Cleansing Astringent Towelettes, 20 ea:

These are THE BEST facial wipes I've ever used. I have acne prone skin and this wipe keeps my acne at bay and if I get a pimple this product clears it up quickly. I use this after working out, before bed, in the morning, a touch up in the middle of the day. It just is perfect for anytime. It doesn't dry out my skin or irritate it. Some people have complained of the smell but I don't even notice the smell anymore after years of using it. Plus to me it just smells like witch hazel which is in the product, so that's good that it smells that way! I'd be more concerned if it didn't smell like witch hazel. These wipes also make my face feel clean and fresh. This product is 100% recommended by me.

I bought these towelettes after reading that Drew Barrymore uses them to keep her face from breaking out. I have the worst kind of skin possible: acne prone, sensitive, and aging.

I have tried everything out there, including some very expensive lines, but these wipes have really done the trick for me.

i went to palm springs for vacation last spring and my combination skin was out of control especially my t-zone which was even more oily than normal because of the heat. i picked these up at a drugstore and they really worked. they reduced the redness and inflammation around my acne and balanced my skin. literally saved my skin.
