I suffer greatly for it and actually use 3 OTC products and 1 herbal remedy for the problem. When I first tried Digestive Advantage, it took about 2 weeks before I started to notice a difference. It does help and it does work! If I should happen to run out before being able to purchase more (it's not cheap locally in the stores), the IBS gets worse. However, as soon as I resume my schedule, it only takes a couple days to get things working smoothly again. Per the manufacturer, one can only take 2 capsules per day. I do wish they made a stronger version or would find that it is safe to take more than 2 a day. I have an ongoing issue with IBS and have been using this product for almost 2 years now. After about 18 months at the 1 a day, I had to go up to the 2 a day. I don't think I would use this product if I only had occasional bouts and for shorter periods of time, so as not to build up a tolerance to the medication. I don't know how good or bad it is to take on a long term basis, although, my primary physician does not seem to have any issues with it, or at least she hasn't voiced any. The product does work though. One of the few that actually does what it says it does. Others have touted no bloating, no pain, no cramps, etc., etc., and have not worked and have caused everything they have touted to not cause. Digestive Advantage for IBS did not have any of those effects on me at all and I am a very sensitive person when it comes to medications and reactions. If it grows on god's green earth, I'm pretty much allergic to it. I have never had any reactions with Digestive Advantage. Personally, I think it's more gentle on the system than products such as Correctol, amd others that claim to be gentle on the stomach and bowel system, however, for me they were not. Does what is says it will, too. But what were they thinking with the packaging? 96 pills come in mini 6x aluminum packettes, Such a huge waste, environmentally and generally. Not convenient at all to have the trays floating around. A bottle would work just fine wouldn't it? Maybe an airtight one?? A point off for that.  Pros

Both she and I immediately got diarrhea after taking it. Thinking this must be a coincidence, I tried it again after running out of my preferred brand... same result. Stay away from this one! Pros

Take one capsule once a day and no flare ups for nearly 2 years. A lot of my local stores have quit selling this product, or doubled the price. It is the only product I have found to calm any distress in my digestive system! It is immediate also which is what I like. Comments about Schiff Digestive Advantage Intensive Bowel Support, 96 ea: I have suffered digestive problems all of my life and as I've aged they have gotten worse, even though I eat very healthy. This product worked wonders for my digestive system. I take 2 per day along with 1 Align. Since I've started taking this, I sometimes get the start of stomach pain, but it never gets worse and never ends up in the usual diarrhea. Love this stuff! Pros
