Due to meds, I am significantly Vitamin D-deficient if I don't take one of these a day. Some of my meds (for rheumatoid arthritis) promote photo-sensitivity, meaning I burn very easily, so I avoid a lot of sunshine. So I don't get enough Vitamin D. Recent studies show that most Americans are VitD-deficient, due to our generally indoor lifestyles.

I needed a D3 supplement that was a lot of IU's. I was taking a 2000 IU tablet, but it got stuck in my throat every day. When I saw the Doctor's Best Vitamin D3 in capsule form and 5000 IU, I thought this just might be my answer. It is! I'll never go back to my old tablets.

The first moment I feel a cold coming on, I mega-dose on this (twenty caps a day- they are extremely easy to swallow). On a regular basis, one a day is fine. I went from having multiple 7 to 10-day colds a season leaving me unable to breathe for days at a time (I have chronic bronchitis anyway), to infrequent three-day colds w/ minimal congestion. This is a PART of a program that I use to knock those out, granted. I also make sure to eat chicken noodle soup w/ a tsp. of fresh garlic, black pepper, cayenne & 1/2 tsp. of Penzey's Maharajah Curry powder (turmeric is a miracle) in it- talk about potent cold healing! Drink plenty of citrus juices, ice water, hot green tea w/ fresh lemon juice & powdered ginger, take normal multi-vitamin, alternate aspirin & cold medicine (each every four hours, on an rotating dosage), suck on elderberry lozenges & steam baths to sweat out the virus. Trust me, your cold will run for the border!

This D3 is awesome! I'd been having mysterious inflammatory joint disease for a couple years and the diagnosis had been sketchy at best. Someone recommended Vitamin D and I started taking this daily. A month later, I no longer need to take Motrin or Aleve every day so those nsaids are no longer messing with my systerm. Yay!
