I have tried this soap a few times and it is just O.K. I like the regular dove better and suprisingly I actually find this a little more drying than the original one. The smell is hard to explain it's not horrible nor is it great.

I love dove & I had been using other dove "beauty bars" (i.e., gentle exfoliating and cucumber & green tea) instead of summer's eve for my more sensitive areas until I got a yeast infection, which I know is normal because I just had a baby, so I got monistat & it went away, then it came back a week or two later, so I started thinking that maybe it was because I was using fragranced soaps instead of the fragrance-free wash from summer's eve that I used to use but that is so expensive for such a small amount, so I decided to try these dove sensitive skin unscented beauty bars & I've only washed with them a few times but so far, so good..I haven't had any irritation, yet & if I do, I'll re-review for sure. also, it does have an excellent, rich, moisturizing lather that I love & after reading some reviews on here about people using it as a facial cleanser, I washed my face with it & it works about the same as cetaphil, however, I could kick myself because the fragrance in cetaphil is, I'm sure, what caused my nose piercing to get infected, so I'll be using this when I get it re-pierced. another thing is that it has no smell, what-so-ever, I mean, it has that odd fragrance-free smell that all fragrance-free soaps do when you first take it out of the box but after that, when you use it, nothing!

Okay let me start by saying that my skin is probably the most sensitive ON EARTH!!!!!! EVERYTHING burns my poor skin moisturizers.creams.pure 100% african black soap i have wasted soooooooo much money when all along the perfect cleanser was the dove beauty bar (1.99 at wal greens!!!) I have "post inflammory hyperpigmentation" meaning: anytime my skin gets irriated it turns red ..burns and itches in certain spots..after the redness fades i get dark patches on my face around my mouth. I have seen a dermatologist that prescribed me desonide that works if you use it 2-3 times daily as instructed it does deminish the hyperpigmentation....but for me my hyperpigmentation comes and goes. it usually clears up after a couple weeks ON ITS OWN but the desonide speeds up the process. I have learned that using harsh products on my face causes the hyperpigmentation..so i decided to try this beauty bar and it does NOT dry my skin out..does not burn or irritate it. I cant say thats its imrpoved my skin tone but im not sure if thats what its for anyways im not even sure if this is made for the face but so far this is the only thing that doesnt burn my skin so i use it for cleansing purposes and i love it! I will have to find a seperate cream for acne blemishes and tighting on pores and fine lines BUT this does the job for just washing my face without the tingling effect afterwards.I highly reccomend it for sensitive skin even products labeled (for sensitive skin BURN the heck outta my skin) except this so i am pleased.I only gave it 4 stars because it doesnt do anythign except clean my skin lol no special effects.doesnt remove acne scars or blemishes FOR ME

I have tried everything for sensitive skin, and this is the best. Leaves my skin clean and soft. My doctor even recommended a soap like this for a rash I had. Love it, and a loyal buyer.

This is a very moisturizing soap that lathers well and is PH balanced but its not really a true soap its a synthetic soap whose PH is closer to skins Ph as of not to upset the PH balance of your skin but meaning your skin doesn't fell dry of taught. However it does contain some unpleasant ingredients that irritate those with sensitive eyes or eye conditions. It irritates the mucus membranes in your eyes causing eye discomfort, pressure or even dizziness. This synthetic bar is great for some, but not for all.

I first discovered Dove Sensitive Skin unscented several years ago when I was undergoing radiation therapy. It was one of the few soaps I was permitted to use. Now I use it consistently for my shower because it's gentle and never stings, even in the most sensitive areas. My urologist also recommended it because it will not irritate the urinary tract the way perfumed soaps sometimes can.

Diagnosed with rosacea in 2001 I got tired of the frequent courses of doxycycline. Dry crusty eyes and red irritated skin were particularly annoying in the winter; doxycycline cleared it up but who wants to take antibiotics a few times a year for a month at a time. I wear a broad brimmed hat, even to go outside for half a minute but reflections off water or low sun in the evening still get me.

I began washing with Dove Sensitive Skin in 2002. Twice a day. For 45 seconds (that is a really long time... try it.) I've had two recurrences since then that required doxycycline, but none in the past four years. I now wash once a day (in the bath) for a full minute. I pay particular attention to the area around my eyes.

A dermatologist told me that the moisturization might be helping, but I think the soap is smothering the little buggers that are vectors for the bacteria. (I'm not saying any more than that; I'm not an MD.)
