All you have to do to enjoy the convenience of our Downy Ball is pour the Downy fabric softener of your choice up to the right fill line in your Downy bottle cap and pour into the ball, seal it, and drop it in at the start of the wash on top of your fabrics. Do not use this product:
On children's sleepwear or garments labeled as flame resistant as it may reduce flame resistance.
On garments made with fluffier fabrics containing cotton (such as fleece and terry cloth) as it may increase the flammability of these fabrics.
A little water left in the Ball is normal. Simply pour out before next use. Should staining occur, simply refer to directions on the back of the bottle. Avoid overloading washer. Use only in top-loading washers and do not put Ball in the dryer.
This works great! My washer's despenser gets so gooey and caked-on with liquid softener, so this really makes the wash much cleaner.

Used to own several of these. Stopped using them when I had a washing machine in my apartment. Now that I have to go over to the laundryroom again, the automatic dispenser is the perfect answer. They are very hard to find and I was thrilled that drugstore.com carried them and at such a great price.

These balls were easily purchased prior to the advent of more sophisticated machines. Now it is almost impossible to find them in stores. If you live in an apartment where the laundry is on the lower floor this item is most beneficial. Many people in our apartment have asked where I got this product and now I can refer them to you. I use this ball to dispense distilled white vinegar during the rinse cycle, in place of fabric softeners. Vinegar works so much better than the average commercial fabric softener. If you're sensitive or prone to acne, you might want to give it a try.
