I think it takes a few tries to turn over to this soap if one is used to chemical concoctions. The Bronner's sister has blog about her conversion from conventional chemical shampoos and it took her a couple of weeks to notice the difference. She used the hair conditioner and one of the regular soaps.

It's really about expectations.

My dog's fur is much softer than when using traditional pet shampoo.

I use it daily in the shower and have no issues with lathering, scent, or skin drying.

The point here, is to reduce chemicals on my body, so I will continue to use this.

I did by the Sal Suds for Laundry from the main Dr Bronner site. 1 Tbsp for an HE washer is sufficient.

The Sal Suds and the original soap are all purpose, so as soon as I run out of chemical stuff, I'll start using these for cleaning floors, blinds, wood work and such.

It's Paraben free and a few other chemicals are missing. The price is good as it can be diluted and will last forever.

I will warn you though, that it does seems to dry on the dispensers a bit more quickly than conventional chemical based soaps. That is just a simple swipe of a cloth to clean though.

I read somewhere, that the Tea tree oil is supposed to be an pretty good anti-fungal, anti-bacterial soap replacement.

I am a fan of Dr. Bonner's products, I love the Peppermint and the Lavendar scents, so I thought I would like this one too. It lathers well and leaves my skin feeling soft, just like any of the other soaps, however, I really don't like the way it smells. Its so unpleasant to me that I don't want to use it. I think I will go back to the onnes that I know.

Comments about Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Hemp Pure-Castile Soap, Almond, 16 fl oz:

I love this product but was very disappointed to find the bottle I purchased was much smaller than the one in the store but for the same price. Shop around on this one if you are looking to save money

This product came with no directions. I live in Florida, the day that the products were delivered it was 90 degrees...every item in the box was hot..not wrapped in bubble pack.

Comments about Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Hemp Pure-Castile Soap, Almond, 16 fl oz:

This item arrived with a broken top. The top looked like it was discinerating--kinda crumbly. Since it was shrink-wrapped there was hardy any mess in box. I got the impression it was an old item.

Luckily, I can use the top from my previous jar, since it's almost used up. AND I don't have to go through the hassle of returns, etc.

I am a first time user of this brand and I am very happy with the results. I love the almond scent! I use a small amount and it lathers well. I have also used this as a shampoo and am happy with the results. I plan on buying the unscented soap for my son. I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for fair trade/organic bath products. I have not tried any other scents but I'm sure they smell just as good.

This is an AWESOME product. I was initially looking for a bath soap that had no chemicals and ended up getting sooooo much more! I use to wash with in the shower/bath & use a mesh sponge which produces the best bubbles! Love it... i also dilute it with water 50/50 and put it in a foam hand washing dispenser at the sink. Then one day i was desperate to try anything to get blood out of a shirt (that i was about to throw out) and it worked!! I just put some on & scratched it with my fingernail and it disappeared. I will buy this stuff forever & i love the almond smell.

              Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Hemp Pure-Castile Soap

               –  Could there really be that many uses for Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Hemp Pure-Castile Soap? Its fans – and there are many – have come up with far, far more, from washing the face, body, hands and even hair to the benefits of aromatherapy. The secret is right on the label: the purity of the ingredients. Certified organic by the USDA, the soap from Dr. Bronner's is also pure vegan, with no animal products included (and no animal testing on any of their products, either). As a castile soap, it is olive oil-based – not made with tallow and certainly not containing harsh chemical detergents – to be kind and gentle on the skin. The imported hemp seed oil also helps alleviate dryness; it is very effective in helping the skin maintain a healthy moisture balance. No matter what use you decide to put it to, it's a soap bar you can have faith in.

              A 150-Year Tradition

The Bonner family can trace its soap-making roots to 1858 in Germany, but it wasn't until 1929 that Emmanuel Bonner came to the United States. Using time-honored methods, this third-generation master soap-maker founded his company with commitments to quality and responsibility to its customers. The formula of the castile soap finds it origins in the 12th century Castile region of Spain, where the olive oil-based soap first began to be produced. This traditional soap has been adapted to modern needs with the addition of rich, moisturizing coconut oil and the protecting benefits of hemp oil (processed to be free of its psychoactive compounds).
