My family has allergies to soap and many other topical things.
This soap has helped get our rough skin and eczema under control.
I would prefer it be fragrance free. I tried the euclyptus.

If you look carefully through the reviews of the various Castile Soaps by Dr. Bronner - you will see what I am trying to impress upon you. Yes, it may smell great, feel invigorating, etc... However, "I used it to also clean my [whole] house," and "...it works great [even] in the laundry," should all be warning signs.

One user keeps stating that it dries his/her skin severely and leaves a residue that has to be scrubbed off. This is not a positive sign of its safety.

Castile soap has great uses, especially in Hospital settings and at the M.D. office. It is produced in wipe form to do "clean" urine specimens. Therefore, it is strong enough to kill any bacteria in that area, so that the sample is not tainted. At the same time, it is gently enough to use once or twice without causing irritation. The package states, however: "...For HOSPITAL use only" and USE only under the advice of a Physician.

Research of Castile soap shows defattening of the natural skin structure over time (I do not think they all talking about cheap plastic surgery, either). They are talking about the thinning of the skin and an eventual, permanent, dermatological disease.

Now, there will be those who say it is the best soap ever, even if research and evidence shows otherwise. That's fine. As long as you are making a responsible, informed decision, and are happy. However, the excuse that you have used it all of your life (and are fine) - is not valid. There are those who have cooked with lard and bacon grease their entire life; there are those who have smoked 60 years. Not everyone gets sick or dies for such things. However, it doesn't make it safe or right.

I recommend, before you continue exposing your body, on a daily basis, to this product- or exposing you loved ones - research it. That is all that I am asking - I am not trying to change your ways; just make sure you are educated in the possibilities.

There may be a certain well known soap, named after the white, coveted tusks, of animals, and advertised as more than 99% pure. It floats, has been around forever, but it is still the worse soap I've ever used. It dries my skin like someone through me in a box of dessicate. Pure is not always better.

This is an incredably cooling and refreshing soap. Perfect for a pick-me-up and hot summer weather.I didn't care for using in my hair though because of the oil in the soap. Have also used it to clean the house with - it cleans well and leaves the house smelling great too.

This all in one cleanser worked best as a detergent! I used it to remove stains on my clothes and they worked like a dream! I have tried it on chocolate and blood stains and they are a breeze to use! I am now ordering the biggest bottle possible!

has anyone else had residue EVERYWHERE? On my body, all over my shower! And you have to scrub to get it off! I can't say anything great about it as a cleanser. I have used the peppermint without the residue effect. can't wait until it is all gone so that I can never use it again!

i am a long time user of dr. bronner products and i have also felt that the gels are not as thick as they once were. i remember a small amount going a long way and that has definitely changed. nonetheless it is a great product and keeps skin young.

i certainly would not describe this as a pleasant eucalyptus smell. it reminds me of vicks vaporub! Wish I had ordered the peppermint.

I buy this stuff by the gallon from [@] and I use it as bodywash, facewash, laundry soap, bath soak, dog wash, etc. It is wonderful! I also like Dr. Bronner's shave gel and lip balm. If you're a conscious shopper, this is a great brand.
