The saying that real soap is drying to the skin and leaves a film...while bath bars like Dove do not...seems to be contary to our use of Dr. Bronner's soaps. Dove makes me itchy...while Dr. Bronner's bar soaps make my skin very clean and very soft...and never itchy. My husband uses it and I sent some to a sister too...we especially love the Almond bar soap...but have tried the liquid Dr. Bronner's as well. Keep the bars very dry when not in use or they will melt quickly.

It is a real soap...so there will be a film on the tub or shower...so clean them while it's fresh to make it easier to remove.

This soap is great as hand soap or for the shower. It really cleans well and quickly and rinses clean and faster than any other soap I've ever used, including Ivory. - and it has a nice, very mild scent - this is the perfect soap! Dr. Bronner's castile soaps are also the most highly recommended safe soaps for pets!

For so many years I wasted money on a separate soap for my face. Dr. Bronner's works perfectly for face and body! Nice scents, too. I don't understand the complains about the soap being used up fast. You know any bar of soap has to dry out between uses, right? Don't let it sit in a puddle of water! I keep mine on a high shelf in the shower (so the water doesn't hit it) and it lasts at least a month.

Love this sudsy bar...smells wonderful...long lasting...feels good and leaves you feeling clean not sticky or greasy..love the lavendar, & almond. Good big bar..lasts a long time.

I love these products. The smell is addictive but not overpowering. My husband loves the smell on my body. I feel clean without any dryness. I just wish the bars would last a little longer.

Dr. Bronner's soaps are terrific-they are reasonably priced, smell good (but not overpoweringly so), lather up well in the shower, don't dry out your skin, and, best of all, have NO harmful chemical ingredients. They are made by an old, very reliable, environmentally conscientious family company.

I use Dr. Brommer's for most everything. When I travel I use it during showers and to wash my clothes. At home, I use it mostly as a hand/face soap. (I use liquid Dr Brommer's in the shower for body and hair). For hair, the bar soap is quite handy because it lathers well, but because my hair is long and very thick, I find that it dries it out a bit. This can be remedied by using a very rich conditioner.

I bar soap is great and I use it always and everywhere. I usually cut it up and distribute the pieces throughout the home, in the bath/powder rooms and the kitchen. I love it and would recommend it to all. It is a quality product and one of the oldest fair trade products on the market.

This is my favorite of the Dr. Bronner line for all-purpose use. They all seem to clean at least as well as regular soaps with more suspect ingredients. Not recommended if you are looking for a scented soap, the smells go away with rinsing. Dries my face much less than other soaps
