(This is because real, natural soap is much more drying than the artificial detergents found in regular store brands, which have been formulated to be pH balanced.) This was ok, but was too drying for me, and it caused irritation when washing (made it itch--probably because it's too drying). I like California Baby wash much better--it's much milder, although more expensive. But it really didn't have any fragrance (unlike many so-called fragrance free soaps). We used this soap as laundry soap with borax when we were on an overseas trip. Had to rinse a couple of times due to slight residue but it cleans well for the gentlest of clothes or skin. Pros
