I used this brush for over a year with my first child without needing to replace it. I use the brush on the bottles from a Medela pump as well as about 2 Avent or Nuk feeding bottles per day. After my second child was born I tried a different brand brush, but I found that the bristles are too long and stiff - Dr. Brown's seems to be the only bottle brush to fit the Medela pump bottles well. My only complaint is that the nipple attachment doesn't fit into the orthodontic shaped Nuk nipples well, so I use a separate brush for those.

We have tried almost every bottle brush out there and keep coming back to this one. The scrubbie on the end cushions bottles, so they don't get scratched, and it fits most bottle openings just fine. We use Dr. Brown's bottles, but we've tried most other brands because we hate the extra parts. Baby's stomach brought us back to Dr. Browns each time. Argh. Anyway, we have gone through 5 of these and never had the issues others have described. We are aggressive washers, so eventually they wear out (scrubbie starts shredding).

The suction cup holder is a joke. It never sticks and the nipple "cleaner" is also fairly inadequate, so we use a different one to get down into the end of the nipples for a good clean.

Still, we recommend this bottle brush as the best one out there. The soap dispensing types always leak (we tried a couple different models for travel). It has its flaws, but Dr. Browns wins out.

this is a disappointing product viewing how fantastic dr browns bottles and other accesories are. i bought 2 and in both cases, the brush fell off the handle. i dried the handle well and tried to glue the brush back in again with super glue. it didnt last either. product needs improvement

I haven't had any problems with this brush - no brown goo - could be because I never use the vertical storage device. Have bought several of these and never had an issue other than normal wear and tear. I replace it when it gets gross, just like I do all of my sponges or other cleaning utensils.

Terrible design, I got 3 of these brushes along with bottles from the baby shower, and all three of them lasted less than 2 weeks each. The brush head is less than one inch into the handle, so after a few uses, it detaches from the handle. Some people complained about the brown goo coming out of the seam, which would probably happen if the brush head actually stayed in the handle.

I have used this brush (and others) since our child was born in 2006 and I haven't had the problem with the brown goo people are mentioning. I always rinse it and squeeze out the excess water, then store it standing up. The only issue I have had with this brush is that the suction cup never stays put, otherwise I have been very happy with this product.

This is not a good brush. If you store it in the upright position as in the picture, water will collect in the seam where the wire meets the handle. Brown gunk will eventually start to seep out. Buy a cheaper brush where the wire is enclosed in plastic and is seamless with the base.

Recently purchased 2 brushes, but only after a few time use, the brush head fell off from the handle. And the second one also didn't last more than a week, too. Poor construction.

I got the Dr. Brown's feeding bottles which are wonderful, so I decided to try the bottle brush as well. The brush worked fine but after a while I noticed a design flaw. Over time brown goo started seeping out of the middle of the brush where the wire meets the handle. I tried running it through the dishwasher several times but no luck... goo kept returning. I think it's because we stored the brush after each use vertically in its suction cup storage... just like the advertisement pictured here. Needless to say we ditched it. I purchased a cheaper bottle brush without this design flaw. The new brush has a plastic coating that covers where the wire meets the handle, so water can't collect in there. Also I store the new one on its side, just in case.
