The smell is absolutely beyond awful. Plus, I wish I had read reviews from other sites before I ordered this as many give this product terrible reviews. I will give it a few weeks and then write another review. For now, I just wanted to let anyone know who was thinking about ordering this, to search for something else. Stinky doesn't begin to describe this stuff.

Central Texas has lots of things that bite. I've gotten several spider bites and have begun swelling within an hour. I always keep a jar of this handy and it takes down the swelling and the pain. Yes, it does smell like creosote, but it works so well the smell is a small price to pay. I usually put a big gauze pad over the area after appling the black ointment and then tape it on so the pad absorbs the excess salve. I would never be without this.

A family member has found great success using this product to get rid of acne. You want to use it at night though, when not going out around people...very strong campfire odor. Must use repeated soap washings to get rid of odor.
