The wooden stick is not padded with enough cotton and can sometimes scrape your skin. But, that said, what a delight to find that SOMEONE still makes a Q-tip type of product with a wooden stick instead of those flimsy cardboard ones. The wooden sticks are so much better than the plastic or cardboard ones because they are firm & don't break or bend under pressure. However, the Drugstore's in-house brand are so skimpy on the cotton that you wind up using 3 or 4 when with Q-Tip brand you would use only one. Best Uses Comments about drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks, 125 ea: I would have to assume that anyone who is happy with this product never used the original. There is simply no comparison. Q-Tip brand wooden stick cotton swabs were a FAR superior product... there was at least 50% more cotton at the tip and the wooden sticks were not prone to splintering as this product certainly does. If you are buying these thinking they will be the same as your Q-Tip brand product, don't waste your money... you WILL be disappointed.

Best Uses Comments about drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks, 125 ea: This is not, nor will ever be a substitute for genuine wood q-tips. The wood stick is shorter, the cotton is reduced by 50% and much poorer quality. Packaged to resemble the old reliable Q tip Brand, which it will never equal, I would suggest looking at the variety special-ordered at the pharmacy, with the 4 or 5- inch wood stick, used by doctors offices and hospitals. Good luck!

Comments about drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks, 125 ea: All other plastic or paper stick swabs simply do not clean as well-they bend where the wooden stick gives much more resistance and therefore cleans better with out a lot of pushing inward which everyone knows is a no no.
