I read this was a good dup for the Makeup Forever HD powder, having yet to purchase that product I can't compare. I use this to set my foundation and it does a nice job keeping the shine at bay for awhile. I apply it with a puff, then use a powder brush to blend it in. I have yet to find any powder that keeps me shine free all day but this powder is nice and light and doesn't look cakey if I touch up during the day.

I decided to give this powder a try and I'm glad I did. The powder itself is pretty good; I apply it with a brush instead of the puff that comes with it and it feels nice going on and stays in place. It's sheer and doesn't provide strong coverage, so it works just fine for a minimal makeup routine. The downside is, the packaging for this powder is terrible. It's a nice looking box that does not close very tightly. There is a sifter insert inside and when you turn the box upside down to sift out some more powder, it leaks out through the gap that remains even when the box is closed as tight as it will go and sends powder clouds everywhere. I pried the sifter out of the box and dip my brush lightly into the powder to use it. (I have a large powder brush and the opening is big enough to accommodate my brush) I like the powder well enough but the packaging/mess really bothers me, so I haven't decided if I'll keep using this or not.

Comments about e.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder, .28 oz:

I always need a good powder to set my make up, but I'm incredibly fair so I find it difficult. I tried this on a whim, and I'm glad I did. I think the container is difficult to use without spilling everywhere, so that's a con. Also, a little goes a long way and if you put too much on your brush (I don't use the powder puff), then it can make you look a little chalky. A clean brush can make up for that.

I use this over 2 in 1 foundation and pat it, not rub it. Amazing! Natural looking. Very little needed. Lasts longer than one would think. Doesn't get on clothes. My complexion has improved. Best six dollars you will ever spend!

I thought this would give me a glow and not matte finish. Maybe I read it wrong. Great product if you want oil absorbing but I wanted something that GIVES shine.

Not a huge fan of the ELF brand (love their makeup brushes though). I think their other make up (nail polish, eye shadow, lip gloss) is a little cheap and does not last. I was looking for a translucent powder to set my tinted mosutrizer and this is perfect! I'm not sure how other brands measure up to it but I am satisfied with this one, and you can't beat the price.

I've always had trouble finding a powder that didn't look too dark/orange on my skin. When I saw this, it is so white in the container I was afraid that it would look too theatrical. It goes on great, though, and looks natural. I love it!

I decided to try this, I love it, and I just ordered another as backup. For me, this will replace an expensive, high-end, invisible setting powder. This E.L.F. power isn't just a so-so substitute -- it's as good as any high-end powder I've used, and it costs a tiny fraction of the price. My skin is very oily and I have some fine lines, and this powder blurs the lines and keeps me from getting oily for about four hours. And I love the screw-on lid for travel!

I use this over my under eye concealer to set it. It is amazing. It does not settle in fine lines and does not look powdery. I just bought this after my usual powder was discontinued. I thought it would be too light - but it isn't. I will definitely buy it again.

Performs just like the MakeUp Forever translucent powder but for a fraction of the cost. A little goes a long way and it mattifies any oily areas. It is finely milled and lightweight, you really have to overdo it to look powdery.
