These worked well for my 4-year old. The flight could have been a painful one for him since he was developing an ear infection. He didn't complain at all of any ear pressure or pain when using these.

I also got a pair for my 1 year old. They didn't stay in very well though and would keep falling out.

My sons get significant ear pain, due to their eustachian tube dysfunction. I have used other methods (gum, afrin, suckers, nose pincing and blowing, etc) as measures to prevent pain, but they were marginally effective at best. I was dubious and had backup plans. But the boys did not complain once. Earplanes were so effective. We flew to Hawaii and also did some island hopping, as well. When we got home, we tossed them. We bought extras for our next trips.

when inserted properly, these earplugs are extremely effective. my children did not experience any pain on the plane while using these and usually they are screaming in pain.

A little difficult to know they are in the childs ear properly. My son wanted to take them out, so it was hard to keep them in his ears. We have been on many flights and although skeptical about the product decided to try it and it made landing a much happier time with our child. We used it only for landing. I will purchase these again in the future. Very happy with the product.

EarPlanes are the ONLY product that works for me ... I have high blood pressure and cannot take a decongestant. I have also had a broken eardrum and consequently am not able to "clear" that ear most of the time.

These are meant to be used in the ascension of an aircraft and then again during descent. If you decide to take them out while the plane is at altitude [leveled off], just be sure to put them back in just as soon as you feel the aircraft descending. They still work if you don't get them in right away, but it's a little more uncomfortable as they "clear" your ears and stabilize.

I love them; use them all the time as a frequent flyer; and have recommended them to children as well as adults. I, personally, use the Children's version because of my small ear openings.

The only disadvantage is that you cannot wear in-ear phones while these are in your ears.

These work as described unless you have a cold, ear infection, or sinus congestion. Then, they don't appear to be as effective. In that case, it seems to help if a decongestant is administered 2 hours prior to landing and ear planes are inserted prior to beginning descent (at least 1 hour prior to landing). Hot water moistened paper towels inserted into 2 paper cups and held up to the ears in addition to the above also seems to help.

Absent a cold, ear infection, or sinus congestion, they work great all by themselves as long as they inserted early enough.

This particular brand comes with a handy case to store the ear planes between use (good for 1 round trip).

It's a rather expensive item but since it keeps my child's ears from hurting, it's worth every penny!

I first discovered EarPlanes after an especially rough trip to Atlanta before I ever had my daughter. These fit her smaller ears perfectly (she's 8) and makes her take-offs and landings much more enjoyable. We wouldn't fly without them.

I buy these for myself. I have small ears and adult-sized earplugs hurt my ears. I love these. They are very comfortable and effective. Also like that they are silicone which makes them easy to clean. I used to by them at my local drugstore, but now they only carry the adult size. I was very excited to see them available here.

I must say Earplanes a godsend and have made flying so much less painful!

I bought several pairs of these children's size for myself first as I am a petit (5'1") woman with small bones. They worked great and made flying much better, and I used them for several flights. However in the end they didn't feel as comfortable in my ears as the regular adult size, tho when I first saw the adult size I thought it would be like fitting an elephant into a keyhole.

I suggest if you are small like me, first buy one pair of each and wear them around the house for an hour or 2 before you decide which is the better fit and invest in more.

This is a WONDERFUL product! My children both have sinus problems and the pain from flying can be unbearable. With these ear plugs they experience only minor discomfort. This only happens when they haven't put them in tight enough. I highly recommend them to anyone who has trouble with the air pressure on take-off and landing.
