I don't normally purchase scented products online as I have sensitivities to strong smells and this can lead to headaches. The Vanilla scent is muted and completely pleasant. The consistency is great! I will definitely buy this lotion again and I highly recommend it.

I don't know why companies can't make a nice smelling Vanilla lotion like St. Ives. I've tried several others and Ecco Bella is the worst. More expensive doesn't mean better here. I can't even explain what it smells like. Almost unnatural. It's just not good. It actually made me uncomfortable and I had to wash it off my hands. I recommend St. Ives Vanilla instead.

The lotion has a sophisticated vanilla scent, not the sweet over powering scent found in other vanilla products.

I am chemically sensitive and can tell you that the fragrance in this product is NOT natural. My daughter came in wearing it and it made me sick. I do not react to natural fragrances that way, so know it is synthetic.

What i love most about this lotion is it's all natural---NO CHEMICALS!!!! For people who are chemically sensitive, you can wear this lotion as a perfume. It's a touch on the greasy side. Give it some time to absorb before getting dressed.

I have been using this lotion for years. I hadn't been able to find it for a while, and was completely surprised Drugstore.com carries it. If you love vanilla and shae butter; this is the lotion for you. It DOES NOT contain harmful ingrediants, only conditioning shae butter and oils, vitamin E, natural fragrance....I LOVE THIS STUFF..

I expected this to smell like vanilla when I purchased it. After all, it did say "vanilla lotion" on the bottle. What I did not expect was how strong it was. They could have used a quarter of the fragrance.

When I first used this lotion, I liked it. It went on smooth and seemed to moisturize. A few hours later, I started getting a headache because of the heavy scent. I tried to wash it off, but the vanilla fragrance continued to follow me. The next day, I packaged it up and returned it. I came home and could still smell it in my bathroom. I wanted to like it because it is made with natural ingredients - but it wasn't meant to be.

I love, love Ecco Bella's makeup line, (Drugstore.com why don't you carry it?), but the vanilla lotion, shampoo, and vanilla conditioner were not a hit with me. Not recommended.

I LOVE this lotion. A friend recommended it to me and I can't get enough of it, especially in the winter. I haven't noticed a scent change since they re-formulated the lotion. It still smells like warm vanilla and I get many compliments on it throughout the day. It can be a little greasy if you live in a hot, humid climate but otherwise it's great.
