This is a great blemish fighter and exfoliant all in one. I have an oily T-zone, normal cheeks, and am VERY acne prone. Normally I have a few inflamed acne areas, mostly on the sides of my mouth and chin, but occasionally my cheeks and forehead suffer as well. The biggest annoyance to me though are the tiny little blackheads and whiteheads that run from the areas next to my nose down to my chin. It's like two little minefields of tiny, under-the-skin bumps that are soooo hard to get red of. I know exfoliation is the key to getting rid of this kind of acne, but manual exfoliation like with a cloth, brush, or scrub is too harsh for my skin and makes me break out even more from the irritation. So I decided to look for a chemical exfoliant that would address my other skin issues as well (the half-dozen or so inflamed acne spots that always seem to pop up, and acne scarring from previous breakouts). This product does all those things and more! I use it at night only because I find that it is a little bit tacky after application and it sort of feels like it's just sitting on top of my skin (which makes sense because it's an exfoliant). I only wear a light layer of mineral powder in the daytime but even that is hard apply over a layer of this ecco bella liquid exfoliant so I stick to night time use only. Another plus is that it is slightly moisturizing and since my skin never really runs on the dry side, I can get away with washing with a gentle cleanser in the evening (Andalou Naturals Citrus Kombucha Cleansing Gel, which I LOVE) and then applying a light layer of this blemish fighter/exfoliant liquid and that's it. I never feel like my skin needs extra moisture after applying this. One of the main ingredients is aloe vera so that's probably why. The sticky feeling took a little while for me to get used to but it doesn't bother me anymore. Your face won't stick to your pillowcase or anything, but it doesn't really sink into your face like other products do so that might take some getting used to.
I think the lemon in this is what has helped with my inflamed acne. Lemon is anti-bacterial in nature (hence why it's used so often in cleaning products) and I can definitely tell a difference in the size and redness of my inflamed acne in the morning after I've used this vs. a night where I didn't use it. The AHA's in this help reduce the appearance of scarring and discoloration while the BHA's (Salicylic Acid) help bring those whiteheads and blackheads to the surface. That being said, I did notice a purging effect that lasted a couple of weeks. The little whiteheads under the surface of my skin came to the top and at first I thought the product was giving me more acne. I stuck with it though, figuring that the gunk stuck in my pores had to get out somehow. After a couple weeks, I noticed less inflamed acne, the whiteheads under my skin were starting to go away and my acne scars had faded considerably. If you are using this to get rid of whiteheads, I encourage you to not get discouraged. Your face may look worse for a little bit because this product causes your pores to purge all those oil plugs that have been stuck in there. Just stick with it and I'm sure you will see results!
I know this is a long review but I'm almost done, I promise! I just want to add a word of caution: Don't use this product twice a day. For someone with sensitive skin I would even say using it every other night might be better. It is very strong and too much of it can cause irritation. Because it has all those lovely acids, it can also burn if you put it on open skin. So be careful. Other than that one caveat, it is a lovely product that does what it advertises. Also, some have said that the smell puts them off, but I like it. It's an herbal/floral/woody sort of smell. It's very unique but it reminds me of playing in the woods and climbing trees as a kid, so I personally like it a lot. Great product, a little expensive for me, but it lasts quite a while and works so well I don't mind shelling out a little more than usual for it. Sorry for this book of a review but I rely on other people's reviews for many of my cosmetic and facial care purchases and I like it when reviews provide lots of details, so I like to return the favor. Hope I helped! :)

This product probably does a good job of controlling mild acne for individuals with clogged pores, so I would recommend it to those who just have mild acne - blackheads and non-inflamed whiteheads. This did not work (after use for 2 months) for my moderate acne, which is a problem of clogged pores and p. acnes bacteria. So I do not recommend it to those with moderate or severe acne - inflamed whiteheads. It didn't make my breakouts worse, but it did not help. I thought the smell was nice and light, I'd describe it as "naturally perfumey", both floral and herbal. It left my skin feeling sticky, even though I only applied a thin layer. So, if you're looking for something to fight the occasional pimple or two, but not more severe than that, try this.

I don't remember how many bottles I went through, I heard the formulation has changed since my last one. I'm reordering this exfoliant because it has worked so well in the past. This works so well on acne blemishes, millia and all other even skin blemishes. This together with my Lion Pair Medicated Acne Care Cream keeps acne away.

I've used this product for several years now and I am very satisfied. It was the first thing to tame my mild adult acne and now I can wear just a fine mineral powder and feel fabulous. It doesn't smell strange to me anymore and since I only wear a very thin layer it at night--who cares!

Based on the other ratings, I thought this product would be great and I was really looking for something natural that would work. In the end, I actually think it made me break out more! It has a really weird texture but that would be fine if it worked. However, it seemed like it made my skin oilier and I really don't even have oily skin! I kept waiting for it to improve (gets worse before it gets better type) but it hasn't and the bottle is half gone. I won't be using this product anymore.

I purchased this product to replace a cream exfoliant that I really loved, but that the company discontinued. Anyway, I use it at night after washing my face. Since I have occasional break-outs, I like the exfoliant/blemish fighting combination. I have used this in combination with a lighter leave-on exfoliant, to insure my skin is not overly dried out, and it seem to be working well.

Comments about Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy, 2 fl oz:

Yes, it smells awful (like a musty closet to be exact). Yes, it's impossible to wear under makeup. But, that said, it does happen to be one of the best exfoliants I have ever used and it does a great job of controlling my mild, adult acne. So I have gotten over it's bad smell and texture. I put this on at night after I wash my face. By morning, my skin is soft and glowing.

I actually did not like this product at all. It sat as a layer on my skin and I could not apply makeup over it without it balling up and flaking off my face. It also had such a smell to it that I can't describe, almost like something rotten. I do love the Ecco Bella brand and wish this would have worked for me.

This exfoliant is the best. It's all natural and organic, it has Salicylic Acid and AHA, which are both a plus in my book because I have acne and worry about aging. You definitely cannot start out using it a lot because it is strong. I started using it every other night until my skin slowly adapted to it because it is strong and very effective. Like any exfoliant, it may not always be pretty in the beginning, but the end results are worth it. I fell in love with EB's products and am totally hooked. I also love the fact that they are doing away with all parabens in their products. That's a huge winner in my book.
