I purchased this brush because I was looking for a long scrubber to reach the middle of my back. I found several on this site, and I'm so glad I picked this one!

The handle is long enough to reach the middle of my back, and the bristles are *just right* - not too long, too short, too soft, or too rough. (I was worried that a brush might be too scratchy, but it's not, for me.) The bristles are soft when I run my hand over the brush, which helps to create a gentle lather and scrubbing, but at the same time somehow they exfoliate really well. I bought this to use only on my back, but I love the way the bristles exfoliate, and so now I'm using it on my arms and legs as well. (It can create a sort of "itchy" sensation, so if you're not used to that you may not like this brush...or any shower brush at all.)

My only complaint about this brush is that somehow the shape of the handle gives me a hand cramp while using it. I'm not sure why that is, but I think it's the result of trying to hold onto it while it's wet. A longer cord on the end would probably help - if I slipped it over my wrist I wouldn't be as afraid of dropping it. I also notice that I have a tough time maneuvering the long handle in my small shower without banging the walls, but I think I'll get the hang of it.

I haven't had any issues with bristles shedding or molding, and luckily I haven't dropped it yet so I don't know if it will withstand the test of time and heavier use. (I've only used it about 5 times.)

Overall, I'm really pleased with this purchase and would recommend this brush to anyone looking for a good exfoliating shower brush.

I have a back injury and needed something to help with the scrubbing of body parts you have to bend over to get to. Everything in me said do not buy wood but I liked the idea of natural materials. After a week with this brush in my shower I had issues with mold growing around the base of the bristles. To clarify a few things: I live in a very dry climate, if our humidity goes above 15% people start freaking out; I hung the brush vertically in my shower at the far end where water gets splashed but doesn't actually go directly into. Despite all this there was a lot of really nasty mold growing. No matter what I did to clean the brush it would just get worse. Finally, I soaked the brush in a bleach solution and put it outside in direct sunlight on a 105 degree day to dry. The mold stayed. I put more bleach in the solution the next day and tried again. Still moldy. I threw out the brush and bought plastic. No problems with mold even though we're in our rainy season now.

I wanted a brush with a handle that wouldn't bend, with fairly stiff bristles. The handle is perfect, however the bristles are too short and much softer than I expected. That might be a plus for some people, but I wanted to be able to do some serious exfoliation.

In the bath- perfect. In the shower- be careful to remove from the dampness (unless you dry your shower each time). Eventually, head can form mildew, that is hard to remove from the wood. If you hang it to dry in COMPLETELY dry area, you might prolong the life. Soft bristles, with large separations between groups. This won't tear at your skin-- it is gentle. Good for folks with sensitive skin.

I bought this awhile ago to replace a brush I had for years. I left it in the shower, and the handle got moldy within a couple weeks. I tried using a bleach mold and mildew cleaner, it helped some but not completely. I now keep it out of the shower to prevent the staining from getting worse. It also doesn't get very sudsy from the soap like my other brush did. Overall i'm disappointed.

I bought this for my husband and he was terribly disappointed. He felt the bristles were much too soft and it didn't look like it would do much in terms of the ease of washing ones back. I planned on sending it back, but to give you an idea of how light this thing is, my husband accidentally threw it away with the box! An overall fail.

The look of this brush is really nice and the handle is the perfect length, but the bristles are too soft. I bought this brush because I have sensitive skin and most brushes scratch up my skin too much. This is too soft even for me though. It felt like nothing at all. I only ended up using it once.

I like this bamboo brush a lot. It's great for everyday use, and my only complaint is that I wish the bristles were a bit more stiff to provide more exfoliation, but if they were, maybe my skin would come off while scrubbing. lol This is a good product, and it's also an eco-smart purchase.
