This product is so great that I bought a few for other people, too. This is good on both coarse and fine hair.

The first week, I just cleared a few hairs at a time, not trying to cover the whole area at once. By the 2nd week, I could use it everywhere on the same go, because half the hair hadn't grown back and there wasn't much to pull.

After about a month, I noticed that I really didn't need to use it every day. This amazed me, because I'd been using an electric shaver TWICE a day.

Some hairs don't grow back for ages, and the ones that do always grow in softer and wispier at the points, rather than thick, blunt, and prickly like they do when shaved. This is a million times better than any shaving (blade or electric), and there is no nasty chemical smell like with hair removal creams. Wonderful.

Warning: Being greatly enthused about this product, I later bought the top of the line rechargeable cordless Emjoi Light Caress, knowing it has twice as many tweezer blades and thinking it would be speedier and not need batteries. That more expensive product was a disappointment. The fancy gold-plated tweezer wheels are not as precision alligned on that expensive product as the stainless steel tweezers are on this wonderful little bargain. The more expensive product pinches.

I much prefer this little battery operated model, which can be used without discomfort. I'm tempted to buy a stockpile of them so I'll be sure to have some in 30 or 40 years, even if the company goes out of business. I never want to be without one of these.

Never tried anything like this before so opted for the least expensive machine as a trial. My major concern was pain. That was not really an issue, in some places it stung but nothing intolerable. There are only two working heads on this model so it is not quick. What surprised me was that it seemed to clip off the hair but not pull it out. It also missed a lot. I used it on my face and overall I don't think the experiment worked very well . Additionally it irritated my skin, leaving it with small bumps like a plucked chicken and redness. Ick. Back to shaving for me.

Don't use this if you have sensitive skin or just want to remove a few hairs. I also think it is better for a man who shaves regularly and has rougher skin and a full beard to shave. It actually bruised my skin so I am going back to the cheap single blade razors. It's targeted towards women but I am going to look for a product that actuall works for women.

Well I decided to try this product out today at the store so I bought it. The pain is tolerable, but the epilator irritates my skin and makes it red. Besides that, I also think that it does not clean up little hairs in small amounts of strokes. You need to hold it on your skin and doing circles but it constantly misses some hairs unfortunately. But after all it does what it should do.

i recommend this product. i have unsightly dark hair above my upper lip that made me very self conscious. I was tweezing, but that wasnt sufficent , so i deceided to give this product a go and am very happy with the results. The first 2 or 3 times was uncomfortable. There was a fair amount of stinging but i plodded along, just using it a little at a time. The results were worth the sting. Now, after using this hair remover about 5 times, there is no more pain. I still have to tweeze a few stray hairs but overall it takes care of the problem. well worth the [$]!

purchased this cos I'm tired of tweezing my underarms..
yay! this was so easy, takes 1/2 the time and didn't hurt at all. [due to the fact I've been tweezing for the past 15 years]

Of cos it misses some here and there, but hey, happens with tweezers to, you know? just go over again and its fixed. Love the convenience!

This product works well on my stray hairs and helps keep the area between my eyebrows clean. It will take some getting used to at first because its basically 'yanking' your hair out from the roots. Its only a slight quick pain though and you'll only experience it the first couple of times you use it.

I found this works fine for the shorter thinner hairs near the outside of my bikini line or those stragglers on the back of my legs and underarms. It would not pull the coarser hair at the bikini line.

I did use this between the eyebrows. While there was little pain I broke out. On the upper lip I found the pain almost intolerable and it took me a couple of days to do the whole upper lip. I was initially very happy with the results on the chin until I broke out and I am talking about what turned out to be two weeks of puss, bleeding and healing from multiple overlapping breakouts. This unfortunately also happens when I wax.

Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea:

I bought this about 3yrs ago. Keep in mind that I've got thick and dark hair. I began using this after I got sick of shaving my armpits all the time. It works well for getting stragglers left behind by wax jobs, as well as extending your current wax. Now, I mostly use it after bikini and underarm waxes. It takes far too long to use this on your legs (I tried once). I think it works best if you've had the hair removed once already (I waxed)--because yes, it does hurt. The pinching/burning sensation does subside with more use, but for me, it's never been painless. BUT--the hair stays gone for much longer, it does come back thinner, and I think it's ultimately less painful than waxing, since it doesn't pull your skin.
When you use something like this, rememeber a few things: it's best do to it after you shower and EXFOLIATE well. Exfoliating is also a must after, otherwise you will get ingrowns.
