My major concern was pain. That was not really an issue, in some places it stung but nothing intolerable. There are only two working heads on this model so it is not quick. What surprised me was that it seemed to clip off the hair but not pull it out. It also missed a lot. I used it on my face and overall I don't think the experiment worked very well . Additionally it irritated my skin, leaving it with small bumps like a plucked chicken and redness. Ick. Back to shaving for me. I bought it for my arms, and it is so much cleaner and faster than waxing. It only took me about 2 minuets to do each arm, and is good to use when you're in a rush. However, like all things there is a small downside. If the hairs are very fine, it breaks the hair instead of plucking it out, but I have found that waxing breaks hairs as well when they are fine. I honestly think that this product catches fine hairs better than waxing because I've found that ever since I've started using the Epilady, my arm hair are gone for a longer amount of time then with waxing. Despite this tiny downfall, I still highly recomend this product over waxing. It also works great on small hairs, because I used it on my facial hairs, and it seems like the hairs are just attracted to it. Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: This thing is great! I had never used an epliator before, and I thought this one would be good to try and see if I like it, and I've been converted! I was alarmed at first at how fast the discs move, and it's VERY fast, but it does a great job. The pain isn't that bad, and it's definitely worth the end result! The skin does need to be held very taught, which makes it kind of difficult to use on the lower bikini area, but I think that just takes practice. I've found that the best technique is the hold the skin tight and graze lightly over the area in broad circles. Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: Don't waste your money if you intend to use this for facial hair. Only works if hair is long, which defeats the purpose. Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: I am a seasoned waxer, but I got sick of wax stripping my skin off with the hair. This little epi is really great. I used it on my face (cheeks, upper lip and neck) and on my stomach. It does hurt, but coming from someone who used to wax those areas, it doesn't hurt as bad as you would think. I like that you can see a lot of the hair it pulled out. So, after you do an area, you can see how much hair it took with it. For the price, it is completely worth it. I may even get the bigger model for my legs. I don't know if I would ever be able to do my arm pits or bikini line with it, though... Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: Not for the faint of heart, or those who are wimps when it comes to pain! I have to admit that I got a little scared when I turned this thing on and saw how fast the discs were moving! And it definitely does hurt a little. I tried it a couple times on my upper lip and thought, "No way can I use this thing!". But I kept trying, because I could see that it really was pulling a lot of hairs out. We'll see how often I have to do it--if only once a month, the momentary pain would be worth it. Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: I read through all the reviews for this item, and I have no idea what the folks are talking about when they express disappointment in this product. I am pleased with it. It is perfect for the face, it does take a lot of battery power, so when it starts to slow down, replace the batteries. It is small, so don't try to use it on a large area; that's just common sense. I love it! Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: This is very convenient. It works well, but the hairs grow back quicker than I thought. It's definitely faster than tweezing those annoying chin hairs. I'm done in no time. Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: I went with this after reading reviews of other users, and I have to agree that this may be the hair removal solution I've been waiting for. It's not messy, you can use it with even short hair, and the pain is totally bearable, especially if you've ever plucked before. The small size is perfect for the underarms, bikini area and upper lip, but I ordered the bigger size for my arms and legs. Highly recommend it. Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: Just got this product and very happy with the results. Went for the small inexpensive unit as my first try with an epilator. WISH I would have found this product 20 years ago. Slight sting but no worse than waxing or tweezing I tried this on my face, arms, legs and bikini area and found it to be effective and only mildly uncomfortable. So today I ordered the gently gold. The bigger unit with more tweezer discs can only do a better job on larger areas. This smaller unit makes doing the bikini area less scary as you can concentrate on smaller area. This size is a great travel item to take along to touch up during your vacation or use daily to keep the facial hairs at bay!! Comments about Emjoi Epi Travel Hair Remover, Battery Operated, Model AP9LC, 1 ea: This is my first epilator, and now I wonder why it took me so long to try it. This small model is great for the bikini area and underarms. The very first time does hurt/tingle, but really only the very first time when the hair is to dense. I've been using it for two months now, and am quite pleased. It goes through 2 batteries a month if you use it regularly, more than once a week. I going to get a bigger model to get my legs, it's just too time consuming to do both legs and the other areas with this small model. For the price, this is a great starter, especially if you've never used an epilator before. The hair seems to grow back slower, within about a week. And, it does seem that the hair is lighter in color and less thick; but this may be due to the fact that the hairs don't all grow back at the same rate. And yes, you do have to exfoliate to avoid the ingrown hairs. Displaying reviews 61-70 ![]() |
