I've had mine for three years and I don't know how I lived without it. It's easy, clean, and fast. Of course it's not perfect, but you can go over your skin multiple times and work in circles to avoid missing too many hairs. It's a little rough on the bikini line, but the more you do it, the easier it gets.

I have owned this model (wthout a light) for about 10 years. Unfortunately, I dropped it on a tile floor. :-[ Although there are new models that have "dual" heads, I preferred to stay with the model that was "tried and true" for me. When I first used the epilator years ago, I remember getting frequent "ingrowns". I used "TendSkin", or similar product, and that eliminated it. TendSkin product keeps the skin layers from "build up" over the follicle. I found it to be easier for me, to simply buy a cream that has a light concentration of glycolic acid in it. You would want to "test patch" this, before you used it after using the epilator, in case your skin is super sensitive. If you are going to use the epilator for the first time, you might consider working on smaller "areas" of the leg, at one sitting. As I recall, the "first time" of removing hair with the epilator, can be uncomfortable. Wasn't like that, after that first use. You can minimize the temporary discomfort, by making sure the leg hair is not fully grown out - but not more than about l/4 inch long. You'll begin to figure out how much growth is optimum.

I no longer need to get waxed! What a $$$ saver! Yes i do admit the first use was pretty excruciating but pretty equivalent to waxing. Once you get use to it youwill feel almost no pain! Please be careful because it may pinch your skin. Simply pull and stretch your skin to prevent this. I use this for my legs, arms, and bikini area. No more razors!

I have tried a bunch of epilators over the years...I can't shave anymore as I get itchy skin beyond belief and it's NOT due to the razors, or foam, or lack of exfoliation or allergies...it's simply because my hair now grows so darn fast and my skin is rather sensitive. Anyway, so I have rather thick, fast-growing, dark hairs on my legs. I would say that among any epilators on the market, this one is the best. Willl it miss hairs? Sure...a few here and there. Will some hairs break? A few. You won't have a perfect result. BUT! You can be pretty darn close...very close indeed. I have had my legs waxed numerous times by professionals too, and even they miss a few hairs here and there... And don't get me started on the cost. This once every 2-3 weeks vs. waxing? I'm saving about 90 bucks a month!!! Worth every penny. Does it hurt? Yeah...and A LOT the first time if you've never waxed or used an epi before. HOWEVER - pain DECREASES with continued use...anyone can tell you that. Now I feel no pain. The hairs that grow in are sparser, thinner, and lighter. All pluses. Beats shaving hands down. And I'm lazy...so trust me, this is great if you don't want the hassle of shaving every day. Also no stubble! Can't beat that eh? :-)

This is the first epilator-type unit I have used, and I have only owned it for a short time. Overall I don't find it as painful as I expected from some of the earlier reviews. It works easily on legs and arms and any area with firm skin that is easy to see. I am still working on my technique for the bikini area. I'm having trouble with keeping the skin tight and flat enough to avoid pinching in this delicate zone. I actually like that it has a power chord, and the light is helpful.

Love my new epilator! Easy, quick hair removal. The light is a nice enhancement and it is amazing how many hairs it still shows after I think I'm done. What a clever idea to add that in. Thank you Emjoi, great product! :))))

It's amazing. I love the way it took all my hair off. It does hurt a lot especially in underarms but I prefer it over razor.

I am a first user with an epilator, it was painful and it missed a few hairs. After using it for over a month it wasn't as painful. The emjoi is very simple to use and I love the high and low speed to choose from for thin or thick strands. The light does wonders on the emjoi. My only problem was the first couple of uses, it didn't catch all the hair. It might've been I wasn't too sure how to angle the emjoi to catch all the hair, but it's still a great product.
