my 2 months old accepted it easily. but I really don't like the color and taste, both are artificial,which should not appear in baby's food.

My daughter has been breast-fed, so her pediatrician recommended that we give her Tri-Vi-Sol so that she gets the vitamins she needs. She likes it, and it works. What more can I say?

I was told to give Vitamin D drops to my breastfed newborn, and this brand was recommended by name. I used it once and am still feeling guilty about actually putting it in my baby's mouth even after I saw the purpleish color and got a whiff of the cough-syrup-like smell. Baby gagged and wailed - who can blame him? - and I immediately went looking for an alternative. Spare your baby! There are Vitamin D drops out there that are ONLY Vitamin D, and don't have the artificial coloring or flavoring.

I first tried Poly-visol because that's all our local store carried and I wanted to make sure my daughter was getting Vitamin D. Polyvisol smells awful, stains clothing, and my daughter just spit it up. Tri-visol smells much better (almost like grape) and she seems to take it without trouble. I often mix it in a bottle and she doesn't even notice it's there. I haven't tried D-visol to compare, however.

My son doesn't seem to mind that taste at all. Based on the other reviews, I am glad I chose this one as opposed to the straight V-D blend.

Our pediatrician told us to give our son this every day since I breastfeed him. It's pretty easy to give, though if he's not laying down flat, he sometimes tongues it out the side of his mouth and it's a tiny bit sticky. I don't think it tastes great or terrible. He never seems thrilled to get it, but he doesn't reject it either.
