This small, 4 ounce bottle of pre-shampoo conditioner is more like a serum than a conditioner. It is very thick, oily and heavy. I use it sparingly on dry hair, leaving it on overnight. In the morning when I shower, I add shampoo before I add water (so the oil does not bind to the hair as badly), but even doing it this way and shampooing twice, I have difficulty getting it all out. It does have a lot of great ingredients in it, and it does seem to improve the condition of my hair, but it is just too heavy and thick for my fine hair. This is probably best for someone with thick, coarse, chemically treated hair. Smells nice and herbal; the cedarwood/ rosemary combo comes across smelling like basil fresh out of the garden.
