This sunscreen is not greasy, and doesn't smell funny. It also really does prevent sunburn and seems to be water-resistant as it claims. However, it doesn't smooth on well, so it takes longer to apply. Generally putting sunscreen on squirming kids is enough of a fight already...needing extra time to get enough on is an unnecessary challenge. On the other hand, the ingredients make it pretty safe compared to other suncreens...so it really depends on what you are after. Probably best for use on infants who aren't rushing off to dig in the sand.

with its very good rating from ewg.org (indicating its lack of harmful ingredients and its inclusion of effective ones), I knew I had to try this sunscreen. I swim outdoors for about an hour a day in the summer and have fair skin. Episencial has not allowed me to burn which is great, but I am getting a ton of freckles which is not so great. I wish it protected a bit more. The other good aspect, though, is it does rub in well with a little effort and doesn't make you look all white as some sunscreens do.

I really wanted to like this sunscreen because it has really great/clean ingrediants and got some very positive reviews. However, I found it to be greasy, and hard to rub in. I'm very fair skinned so I didn't notice a white film, but I bet if I had a darker skin tone then I would look really ashy. I also was disappointment because I wanted a sunscreen that I could use on my face and body. I have oily facial skin and therefore, I wasn't able to use this product on my face.

I got a little disappointed when I read the ingredients list, which is very different from that provided on Drugstore website. The product I have includes some ingredients I don't like, such as ethylhexl (octyl) pamitate and isopropyl palmitate. Normally, I avoid these two ingredients. Nevertheless, it is not greasy compared to many other natural mineral sunscreen products I have used. It is a little white, so I have to apply it carefully.

Works perfectly - even on our fair-skinned, blue-eyed, red-headed 11 month old girl. It's used almost daily on her at daycare. It's very thick and covers well with a little elbow-grease. Especially love the limited and safe ingredients. No need to buy another brand after using this one!

My kids, 8 and 2, both use this and it's great. There is no strong scent and it rubs in well without leaving the skin white. I have even used it. Our 8 y/o has eczema and this sunscreen doesn't aggravate it at all. Our 2 y/o is very fair and this has kept her protected the entire day at the zoo with only one application. Best sunscreen we have ever used.

I only gave it four stars because I wished it came in different sizes- maybe a smaller travel size and a larger family size.

I love this sunscreen for my daughter. She has incredibly sensitive skin and this is the only sunscreen that did not make her break out in a rash. You do have to reapply every 1-1.5 hours, but I don't mind that one bit.

Comments about Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35, Unscented, 2.7 fl oz:

I carry this sunscreen wherever I go. It is great for my very active 5-year-old daughter, who loves to run around, swim, sweat and run through any water. She has sensitive skin. Brands like Neutrogena Baby and All Terrain made her break out in a rash. Sunology and Vanicream are incredibly greasy and sticky, which is unpleasant and just abhorrent at the beach with sand sticking all over your body. Badger and California Baby are very difficult to spread and neither of us like pulling and tugging on her skin. Sunscreen sticks are too difficult to spread and seem heavy.

This is an overall sunscreen: easy to spread, long, solid protection, not greasy, no unpleasant scent, water-prrof, does not make you turn white, bottle never leaks and simply a complaint-free product. It seems like it was recently formulated to spread even easier! The ingredients are great and that is a must in my book.

I use it on myself and every time a friend asks to borrow a smidge for their kid or themselves, they are all blown away and say they are going to stock up. Their kids have no complaints and that is just a God-send.

I always try the new sunscreens that are highly-rated, but none can hold a candle to Episencial. I am very happy with it, which is close to impossible to accomplish.
