I bought this Episencial suncreen for my son (4yr old) after many research online including EWG.org and good reviews on drugstore.com. I applied this on my son for the pool play outdoor on his back neck and cheeks only because it was late afternoon already. That night he showed serious sunburn on the places I have applied this suncreen. Everywhere else where I didn't apply is fine. This is the first time he has sunburn. I am usually not conscious about putting suncreen on him and he never gets a single sunburn. However, now that I am conscious and applying this product actually causes sunburn on him pretty bad, he has red rashes and blisters all over his back neck and red burn on his cheeks. It's itchy too. I do not recommend this product.

I am a big fan of this; it is our choice for everyday wear for both me and my child. It smells nice and truly rubs in easily. It is not pasty or thick but actually feels like a lotion, and leaves no white residue. The only problem is that I feel that it is not as protective as some other less pleasant formulas. My son does not burn with it, but over time, he gets a tan. (He has that type of skin). I also question its waterproof ability since it is so light feeling. Although I have had no bad experiences (burns) with it, I probably would not trust it for a full day at the beach.

This is a great product. It rubs in relatively easily. And by relatively I mean better than most natural/safe products I have tried. So if you're not used to all-natural, physical sunscreens you may disagree. However, it is 1000 times better than Badger and UV Natural. It is not greasy at all but you do have to make sure you rub it in or you will be left with white patches. I use it under my makeup daily. I like that it is very moisturizing, but doesn't leave you looking like an oil slick or smelling like a coconut. My only minor complaint is that after a few hours I have noticed that it can kind of flake (for lack of a better word). But that usually happens only on the bend of my arms and is easily rubbed off/in with more lotion. I have noticed this with other products as well so I think it may just be the nature of physical sunscreens. I wish they made it in a larger bottle.

I bought this sunscreen after reading about all of the chemicals put in most name brand ones. For being a physical barrier sunscreen (protection is zinc oxide and titanium dioxide), it is light weight and smooth. It does take some rubbing in if you don't want any white residue on the skin but that doesn't bother me or my children (ages 3 and 5). I would buy this product again.

I was looking for a safe sunscreen for my face. At first, I bought the Badger brand sunscreen based on the Environmental Working Group's recommendation (safe, chemical-free sunblock). I HATED it! It was WAY too thick and greasy - I couldn't rub it in - yuck! THEN, I saw that the EWG also gave a thumbs-up to Epesecial suncreen. I bought it at a health food store, and gave it a try. It rubbed in easily and did not feel greasy at all. This is a good, gentle, chemical-free sunscreen that is safe for all family members. I will definitely re-buy this item.

I LOVE this sunscreen! I have been looking for a sunscreen product that goes on relatively easy without much rubbing in- considering I have 3 squirmy children- and I wanted something without chemicals. This one fits this bill! It goes on thinner than other non-chemical sunscreens and the smell is very neutral. I highly recommend!

I got it because it was named a healthy choice on some health report. OK, great. It's hard to rub the white (zinc) in but that's no big deal. What bugs me is that it doesn't allow your skin to breathe. Wearing it makes me hot and sweaty. Since I only wear it on hot sunny days, that means I'm doubly uncomfortable. Note I'm at an age (menopause) where I break out in sweats all the time anyway so I really don't need any additional ones. I already threw out my Neutrogena because the same report slammed it. Now I'm not wearing any sunscreen most of the time. This stuff probably does a good job but if you don't want to wear it what's the use?
