Comments about Evenflo Classic Bottle Pack, 0-3 Months, 12 ea:
Ok, so these bottles are great for a few reasons but definitely are not perfect... We had been on a looong quest to find the right bottles for my son. He was breastfed and very picky with nipples and flow as a newborn. We eventually settled on Dr. Brown's as they offered a Preemie flow nipple which was very slow and he took to the standard nipple well (we had been trying various wide nipples as they are the most highly recommended for breastfed babies and he hated all of them!). After the first 6 months I decided to try again to find a different bottle because he was past being fussy with bottles and wanted faster flow. Dr. Brown's are a pain [*] to clean and very expensive to buy new nipples and larger bottles. I read reviews for these bottles on other sites and they were mixed, but I am certainly glad we gave them a try. The prosThey are SUPER inexpensive, seriously 12 bottles for [$]?! Even if they had been horrible I wouldn't have felt any pain from shelling out the cash for them (we had paid over that for ONE bottle that our son refused). The bottles are easy for my son to hold, I love their shape and they are easy to clean. They're bpa free, which isn't hard to come by any more but still great. Silly, but they're cute! I like that the whole bottle is colored and you get a mix of gender neutral colors. The consMy biggest complaint with these bottles is the leaking...what an annoyance! You have to first screw the ring on SUPER tight while shaking them so that it doesn't spray milk all over the darn place (it comes out from the bottom of the ring). Then if you forget to loosen it the nipples collapse while baby is drinking, which causes a ticked off and frustrated baby. If you unscrew it too much, leaks like a sieve. Not enough? Well more nipple collapse. Then when you stand the bottle up any milk that has collected in the ring then pours down the sides of the bottle...ugh. But like I said, they are cheap, and for a reason. They aren't the most durable bottles I've ever used either, but for [$] I honestly expected worse. We've been using them for about 2 months and a few of the nipple rings have cracked. They are still usable and it's not a deal breaker, but come on. We only hand wash these bottles, but I have a feeling that if we would have put them in the dish washer they would be total junk by now. And what's up with slow nipples in larger sized bottles? They should at least come with medium if not fast flow, kind of a pain to have to purchase separate faster flow nipples. The slow nipples that come with the bottles are REALLY slow, but beware of the medium and fast flow nipples as well. The medium are more like fast flow, and the fast flow are like SUPER fast flow. All in all, I still gave these bottles 4 stars mostly based on the price and the fact that you get so many. The cracked rings are easily replaced because we are never using all 12 bottles at one time, we use 4 and the others have seen almost no use. If you have family close by or use a sitter/daycare, it's great to have enough bottles in one package to give them to stay there instead of having to buy more. Once we got the nipple rings figured out they definitely leak less, but does still happen. Words of advice, never shake the bottle vigorously if the formula clumps up or plugs the nipple once feeding has begun. Swirl it around and TIGHTEN THE RING before you do it, and don't forget to loosen again for feeding :) If you can tolerate a little leaking, these bottles work fine and totally serve their purpose. We continue to use them and are happy with our choice, besides it's only for a year right? I'd rather figure out how to deal with a little spilled milk instead of making a major investment in the more expensive "fancy" bottles with a million parts to clean!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
