Do not tie pacifier around child's neck as it presents a strangulation danger. All pacifiers wear out. To prevent possible choking hazard, test the pacifier strengths by pulling on the bulb portion of the nipple. Any tear in the nipple can lead to the separation of a piece, presenting a possible choking hazard. Inspect frequently, particularly when your child develops teeth, and replace if any tear or crack appears. Do not place in microwave oven as this may cause deterioration of the nipple.
