I am a retired RN and have a multply pill crushers. Cureently I use these for my dogs. One luckily with congestive heart failure takes her small pills with salami. I crush their bone pills. It washes well in the dishwasher and I have had no problems with it. But never have crushed a human pill. Great pill crusher.

They must have changed the product since I first bought this. Judgeing by the picture it's the crusher with the teeth and as someone else said the meds get stuck and you end up with half of what you are trying to get. Skip this crusher. I think [@] has a better designed one now.

The description states that this crusher has the smooth grinding surface which works great. However, they send you the crushers with the "teeth" which don't grind very well and medicine gets left in the crusher. Sending mine back.

Here is the down and dirty. This pill crusher DOES NOT grind your pills to a fine powder. It cannot because of the nature of this grinder. Instead of a crucible type meeting for the crusher, it uses to teeth-like grooves (which never meet or come together enough to cause a complete crush).

I'd give it more stars but you must make sure you at least break the pill in half (depending on the size of it). If it's as big as an aspirin break in half then crush so that the plastic doesn't crack. If you do that then it does crush them very well without waste by leaving powder in crevices like in other crushers I've used. Just be sure to break the pill in half first.
