This has been a life saver. The hot flashes have disappeared. At 48 I quit having periods, and then a year later started having one every three months. I stayed like that for two years and have now either quit again or am waiting considerable longer. It has been 5 wonderful months with no mother nature! =) However...the hot flashes became almost non stop. Also some bleeding after sex. My OBGYN was going to put my on HRT again. Although I had no issues with that, I wanted to try this naturally. I have no anger like the first time, so this seemed like a better choice for me. I use 1/2 teaspoon twice a day because the flashes were topping out at 25 or more a day! Whew...I was hot! It's been only a week, and I am so much cooler again. Not embarrassed when I am out in public or kicking the a/c down. I also have no more bleeding after sex, and no vaginal dryness. Considering that HRT is way expensive, even with insurance, this is the best deal for me.
** I am not thrilled to see weight gain happening at this time, but all that I have read about this online says that at first you will gain water weight while things balance out. I figured it was water, because the gain is a pound a day! Eeek!!! But, I figured this was causing a 'cycle' and that will go away.
***I rub it into my inner thigh or lower belly, or inner arms...it says soft areas. I just read today, that it needs to be rubbed into the upper body so it absorbs before it gets to your liver and you get the full dose. I'll try that for a while, but I have had no problems with where I have been rubbing it.
Bottom line, is this cream works. Takes care of the dreaded hot flashes in the day and night sweats at night. Plus, my sleep is really improving. I am sleeping later and better. I feel less 'blue' and the head fog is gone.

Bought this along with Evening Primrose Oil supplement to help relieve "hot flashes." On the days when I would forget to apply it I would get hot flashes so I surmised that this was working but the Evening Primrose Oil supplement wasn't. I rub it in on the top of my feet & it does take some effort to rub it in completely but that's no reason not to buy it. I am very satisfied with this product and with the bogo offer it was worth it.

The manufacturer does not disclose how much progesterone cream is in this product. I called them directly to inquire and no detail avail. In my estimation amount of progesterone cream is very minimal and I got zero result. Go to a physcian and get a prescription to fill at a compounding pharmacy and get a viable % of active ingredient. Otherwise why bother?

I started Femgest 3 weeks ago to control very heavy perimenopausal bleeding. My doctor had prescribed a high dose synthetic progestin, which I was not willing to take due to the onslaught of potential side effects. My research indicated that using a progesterone cream could take 3 months to see significant results. But in this first month, my symptoms are much improved. I have used approx. 1/2 tsp daily for 2 weeks. I may decide to begin the Femgest again before day 12, to keep more progesterone in my system. I think that reviewers have described the feel of this particular cream in negative ways; however, while I do find it a bit greasy, it is certainly very usable and so much less expensive than other brands.

I don't use this faithfully and I suppose that is the only way to tell if this product works. It might help but for someone suffering in Menopause, it wouldn't take the place of bio-identicals since there are more changes in the body than progesterone. For those with mild symptoms, I think this product is as good as any on the market but at a much better price here on Drugstore.com..which is why I would try most products because they are way more affordable on this site...Thank You to drugstore.com

I purchased this brand because my other brand was out of stock at the time. It works the same, but it's too thick and as another reviewer described, it 'balls up.' I end up applying extra because it doesn't seem to absorb very well. After about an hour, I can rub off what didn't absorb. I do sleep better, feel more alert and less crabby when I use progersterone. I will be returning to my other brand once my two jars of Femgest are gone.

I ordered this because of it's value but I'm not particularly happy with the product. Yes, it does what it says it's suppose to: provide relief from hot flashes...but the cream is thick and difficult to apply to your skin because it "balls" up. Plus it's difficult to figure the proper dosage per use unless you have a measuring spoon available everytime you apply it. My recomendation: there ARE better progesterone products out there that are easier to use.

I started using it 3 weeks ago and w/i 2 days started sleeping thru the night. I am now using the same amount of covers as my spouse and not waking up throwing covers off then minutes later freezing and pulling them back on only to do it again in awhile. Improvements everyday. I feel less fatigued, lost 3 pounds, can focus on work and don't have the cravings for carbs anymore.
