Indications
Helps restore and maintain regularity and relieve constipation. This product generally produces bowel movement in 12 to 72 hours.
Drug Interaction Precautions
Contains calcium. If you are taking any form of tetracycline antibiotic, Fibercon should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after you have taken the antibiotic.
Warnings
Do not us laxative products when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present unless directed by a doctor. If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, consult a doctor before using a laxative. Laxative products should not be used for a period longer than 1 week unless directed by a doctor. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult you doctor. Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and may cause choking. Do not take this product if you have difficulty in swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately.

Like Julia below, my gastroenterologist suggested taking FiberCon daily to control IBS. He suggests FiberCon vs. other products because so many of them are unpleasant to take and I agree, after everything I have tried I'd much rather sit down and swallow 6 caplets than chug a big glass of goo. If my issue was constipation that needed to be resolved right away, this isn't what I would choose because it can take days and days to work in those cases, but for daily fiber to keep your system balanced it's great.

I suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), which involves frequent bouts of diarrhea. My doctor suggested taking FiberCon (ironically, a laxative) to see if would help. It has - immensely. Taken daily, the improvement has been exceptional. Highly recommended!
Fibercon® acts like natural fiber so continued use for one to three days is normally required to provide full benefit. Fibercon dosage may vary according to diet, exercise, previous laxative use or severity of constipation. Take this product (child or adult dose) with at least 8 ounces (a full glass) of water or other liquid. Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking. (See warnings). Do not take more than the maximum daily dose.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2 caplets once a day, daily maximum up to 4 times a day. Children 6 to 12 years of age: 1 caplet once a day, daily maximum up to 4 times a day. Children under 6 years of age: consult a physician.
