I never had digestive problems until I went on a calcium channel blocker for migraines. Now I take tons of fiber and am more careful about my diet, but when I have problems in spite of my preventative regime these are a great quick fix. They work within about 15 minutes and have no side effects (beyond a little discomfort from the form of administration!).

It often does not help at all, plus it can cause a stinging sensation in your bottom. This irritation sometimes lasts a couple of hours. Also, it tends to make you feel like you have to go after 5 minutes, but if you do so usually all that happens is the suppository comes out because it has not melted. You need to retain it for at least 15 minutes for it to help at all, even if it is making you uncomfortable.

Comments about Fleet Glycerin Suppositories, 50 ea:

I've suffered from constipation my entire life. I have it pretty much under control at this point. I take stool softener everyday (recommended by my doctor) and I eat plenty of fiber. Sometime though, even with all my efforts, I just can't go. I try not to use these often, but it's very easy for a small problem to become a big problem so these are a great preventative measure.

I cut the suppositories into 2 or 3, because one is just too big. It literally works in under 5 minutes for me. I insert it and then in 3-5 minutes it produces a bowel movement. The suppository barely melts before it is expelled, which is better since my body doesn't have to absorb more than needed. I would be wary of using these too often, but it does help prevent constipation for me.

Comments about Fleet Glycerin Suppositories, 50 ea:

Some people in this family swear by them. Just a good old fashioned "goose to the caboose" when "traffic slows down" and starts causing a bit of discomfort. They seem safe enough...no gut-rolling side effects or kicking in at some inopportune moment "6 to 12 hours" later as with many orally administered laxative products. Average time to take effect seems to be about 7 minutes. For traveling, I throw a few in an empty pharmacy bottle. Note - they will get a little melty in high temperatures, even a really warm bathroom.

Comments about Fleet Glycerin Suppositories, 50 ea:

I love this, it works fast, within a minute of insertion. Now I never have to leave the house feeling bloated. I don't think it is addictive at all. I use it whenever I want to use the bathroom at home, before leaving the house.

The little suppositories are small, but only a tiny amount of the suppository actually melts inside of you. I usually expel the suppository almost completely unmelted into the toilet this stuff works so fast.

Comments about Fleet Glycerin Suppositories, 50 ea:

These are more convenient to use than enemas and are not saline based. The shape of these suppositories makes them easier to manipulate than other brands on the market. The suppositories are compact and practical to take when traveling. Glycerin suppositories are not as unpredictable as laxative products and do not cause ill effects.

Unlike other brands of glycerine suppositories, these have a broad base, enabling the user to manipulate them easier.
