As I get older, my feet only got worse, making sandals embarrassing. Sometimes, my heels would crack and bleed. After reading some of the recent reviews, I see that the formula has been changed. I found an old tube and now see that it did not used to be a white cream--it did have a bit of a smell and had a more grainy texture--but it worked well and quickly. Cons Best Uses Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: Used it 2 days in a row and on the 3rd day used a heel smoothing board. Tons of dry skin sloughed away and my heels were LIKE NEW. Normally I have huge cracks in my heels because I live in flip flops or barefoot. NOTHING has ever worked before for me and I put in a lot of time with products, moisturizing, using pumice stones, etc. This product is not like anything else. I would be lost without it, truly. Now I use it 1 or 2 times a week for maintenance. Easy to apply, cannot think of any cons at all. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: I've had some problems over the past few years with very dry, calloused heels, to the point of cracking and causing pain all the time. Having just become a diabetic in the past few years, I've begun to get more and more concerned. On a recent trip to England my heels were beginning to bother me, so for the first time I looked for something to help. I found Flexitol Heel Balm in a drugstore in Inverness, and by the time we left Scotland a few days later, my heels had improved tremendously. We bought more from a Boots in England before leaving and now a few weeks later my heels are doing just fine with an occasional application. Hopefully the American version will be just as effective. Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: Don't let the price deter you; this stuff is nothing short of a miracle! When I travelled abroad, wearing sandals all day, Flexitol fixed my cracked heel skin literally overnight. It also keeps shins and calves from getting ashy. If you buy it locally, look for the bonus package that frequently includes a free travel-size. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? You would have thought that being medicated would have made it even more effective, but alas! It is not the same as it used to be, and I continue my search for the best! Best Uses Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: This used to be a fantastic product, but since they've changed the formula I'll be looking for something else. It doesn't work even half as well and considering the price, it isn't worth it. Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: Looking at the dates of the fabulous reviews this product has received, I see that most were posted prior to this product being reinvented by the manufacturer. I have a tube of the older version as well as the newer version. The newer version is truly a disappointment in terms of its effectiveness. Yes, the newer bright white cream is more aesthetically pleasing but it simply does not moisturize the way the older, yellow, less sanitized looking version did. When you have a serious problem with dry feet you want an effective solution. This is not a beauty show. Its about getting the job done. This company had an outstanding product. Now its product joins the ranks of all the other average foot care products on the drug store shelf. Too bad! Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: I swore by Flexitol Heel Balm for many years, but they've changed the formula and it isn't half as good as it used to be. I used to give it 5 stars, but now a mere 3, as it's only average. What a shame! It's no longer worth the cost, IMO. I'm on the lookout for something better. The ingredient list you have posted here are the old ones, not the current ones, I believe. Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: I started having trouble with rough, dry, cracked heels five years ago, but since I do not have diabetes, my insurance company wouldn't pay for the expensive prescription medicine I needed to heal the fungal infection. Since then, I have tried numerous creams and none of them ever seemed to do much. One day my husband (probably tired of hearing me go on about it) bought me one of every product he found at a local pharmacy. Foolishly, I tried the brands that were more well known first. I could have just thrown them out for all they did for me. As a last gasp, I decided to try this one--five years after I started having the problem--and I saw results immediately. Applied it at bedtime and woke up with better feet! Who would have guessed? I hope this brand never goes out of business, because this product really does work! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (2 of 2 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Flexitol Heel Balm, 2 oz: This would be 5 stars, because the product is surprisingly effective, but for the smell - which is awful! Applying it at night isn't so bad but you're supposed to use it twice-a-day which means you're wearing it out and believe me you can smell it. It is also hard to get the odor off your hands. But as I said - it is effective. My feet feel significantly better after only a few days.
