My homepathic doctor recommended daily Saccharomyces Boulardi. It can be purchased in a granular capsule form (at health food stores) that can be broken open and sprinkled on food (which would cost less than Florastor). However, I just rip open the little pouch and carefully pour Florastor kids on my son's tongue. It's simpler than messing with putting it in a drink or on apple sauce. It tastes ok - very sweet.He's been taking it for about 2 weeks - but he's sick again with cough and fever. I'll need to give it some more time before I decide if it helps. It seems expensive - 1 box has 20 pouches - the dosage is 2 packets per day. You're paying [$]for 10 days! Which is ok if it works! Comments about Florastor Kids Probiotic, 20 ea: After researching probiotics, I bought this to use in conjunction with my 3-year-old daughter's treatment for c. diff. She is on her second round of metronidazole after a reoccurance of c. diff. She has one more week of antibiotic and I intend to keep her on the Florastor even after she finishes the antibiotic. All my research indicates that probiotic use greatly reduces the chance of reinfection with c. diff.  Pros

Best Uses Comments about Florastor Kids Probiotic, 20 ea: doctor said its good to give them, so we bought 2 10 packs and everything was good, worked great and it helped. so i decided to buy more, and found them on sale here, and bought 2 20packs. as soon as i gave him a first pack, the baby started vomiting. i thought maybe something wrong with the milk, 2 weeks later, gried a 2nd packet of florastor, and the baby had sever vomiting for 10 hours, and we were told to go to the hospital to get IV for the 3 month old. no im afraid to buy them again. Along with medicine to treat the c difficile, this has helped greatly... She is no longer on the medicine for the c difficile but we keep her on the florastor to keep her good bacteria in the GI in check. This is a great product to give yourself or children while taking antibiotics to prevent getting c difficile infection which is horrible! I definetely reccomend this product for that and anyone who has c diff! Not to mention this is a great price for it at drugstore.com! Pros

Comments about Florastor Kids Probiotic, 20 ea: I always always always have this onhand for both of my children, especially in the winter when we have to go to indoor places to play outside the home. Seems winter is THE time for diarrhea. This product is easy to give (though I just put it straight into their mouths...my daughter opens right up, my son needs something to wash it down with) and EFFECTIVE. Solidifies the matter. If I skip a dose, it gets runny again. Totally recommend this product!! Wish it were cheaper, however. And more accessible offline. BUT...more than worth it. Pros

Comments about Florastor Kids Probiotic, 20 ea: I put this in my daughter's breakfast 3-4x/week, especially when traveling abroad. Mild taste. Probiotics are supposed to be one of best ways to help kids' immune systems,and this is a portable easy way to include them in her diet.
