It was recommended to me when I was suffering from Clostridium difficile and resulting diarrhea. I had recurrent C diff and was only able to overcome this problem after pulse dosing with Alinia and taking Florastor and Culterelle daily. I continue to take these two probiotics and the C diff has not reoccurred. Now that taking probiotics is routine, I rarely have any bouts with irritable bowel syndrome which used to be a regular issue for me. I highly recommend taking Florastor before and after having an operation especially if the antibiotic Clindamycin is used. It was after day surgery for a carpel release procedure that I became ill with the C diff infection. I also recommend bringing Florastor when traveling to help avoid traveler's diarrhea. It is easier to take with you than some other probiotics because it doesn't need to be refrigerated. Best Uses Comments about Florastor Probiotic, 50 ea: I wrote a detailed review about the ineffectiveness of this product last week, but seems that high-rated reviews were more important for this site and my low-rated review didn't go through. Don't waste your money people on this product! My doctor advised Florastor and I believed him. However, not only I wasted money, I also wasted 2 months of my life as my illness progressed. He contracted C-diff last year after undergoing several months of antibiotic use, as well as being hospitalized for a long period. He nearly died. Florastor was one of the supplements he was given to replenish his gut with good flora. We asked doctors and pharmacists about other probiotics and, UNANIMOUSLY, they recommended Florastor above all others. A year later, he still takes 2 per day to discourage return of cdiff. He has been in 'remission' for 9-months as of now. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful?
