After showering and using my other skin care products I apply Fruit of the Earth's Aloe Vera Gel as the finishing layer (under make up). It is amazing at calming my irritated skin and decreasing the redness. I will often apply it before going to bed too if my rosacea is flairing at night. I have used a lot of products promising rosacea care and this product is one that has really helped. I love that it doesn't have other additives found in other Aloe Vera Gels like alcohol that irritates my skin even more. Fruit of the Earth is gentle and effective. After my shower I used it in my hair instead of my usual gel, on my face instead of my usual facial moisturizer, and all over my body instead of my usual cream. By chance, it was a rainy, humid summer day. From the moment I applied it, my face felt weird (some have described it as tight). My hair felt very soft. But after walking around in the moisture, I could feel the coating of gel all over me, slightly sticky and itchy, especially on my face. Compared with my regular hair gel, this did nothing to keep my curls defined and frizz-free. I bought the product on the recommendation of a dermatologist friend who said it was great for sunburn, so if I ever get a sunburn I'll be back to let you know how that worked, but in the meantime I'm going back to my usual hair, face and skin products. By the way, I agree with the reviewer who noted that it is extremely deceptive the way the product says it is 100% gel, not 100% aloe. Many reviewers don't seem to realize this is not a pure aloe product. I also don't understand all those who liked the smell, since I found the product to have no scent whatsoever. I couldn't put anything on my skin except for this stuff. It contains no alcohol so it takes a bit longer for it to dry, but it soothes the skin and does not make it dry out any more. I used aloe when I first got acne and it worked to an extent. Anyway, point being, it doesn't clear your acne but post acne or to maintain your clear skin it is PERFECT because it clears red marks and the enzymes digest any left over clogged pores or raised scars. I apply this to my face and body and I now have the clearest skin I have ever experienced in my adult life. I wish I'd known about this in high school or college. After just a week of use, my skin is now more even toned and former acne scars/marks are fading. The aloe gel also controls the sheen/greasy appearance that my oily skin gets for the entire day.
