After showering and using my other skin care products I apply Fruit of the Earth's Aloe Vera Gel as the finishing layer (under make up). It is amazing at calming my irritated skin and decreasing the redness. I will often apply it before going to bed too if my rosacea is flairing at night. I have used a lot of products promising rosacea care and this product is one that has really helped. I love that it doesn't have other additives found in other Aloe Vera Gels like alcohol that irritates my skin even more. Fruit of the Earth is gentle and effective. After my shower I used it in my hair instead of my usual gel, on my face instead of my usual facial moisturizer, and all over my body instead of my usual cream. By chance, it was a rainy, humid summer day. From the moment I applied it, my face felt weird (some have described it as tight). My hair felt very soft. But after walking around in the moisture, I could feel the coating of gel all over me, slightly sticky and itchy, especially on my face. Compared with my regular hair gel, this did nothing to keep my curls defined and frizz-free. I bought the product on the recommendation of a dermatologist friend who said it was great for sunburn, so if I ever get a sunburn I'll be back to let you know how that worked, but in the meantime I'm going back to my usual hair, face and skin products. By the way, I agree with the reviewer who noted that it is extremely deceptive the way the product says it is 100% gel, not 100% aloe. Many reviewers don't seem to realize this is not a pure aloe product. I also don't understand all those who liked the smell, since I found the product to have no scent whatsoever. But it's also a great moisturizer - and has worked better than anything else I've tried for a small patch of eczema on my face if used twice a day. I have tried using it as my facial moisturizer, and it works fine - but like someone else, I get that tight "coated" feeling afterwards, but have not had the flakes they refer to. NOTE: THIS IS THE SAME EFFECT YOU WILL GET IF YOU CUT OPEN AN ALOE LEAF AND SPREAD THE GEL DIRECTLY OUT OF THE PLANT. Overall this is a GREAT product and is much easier than maintaining my huge aloe plants. I'd need to grow a lot more of them to use it 2-3 times a day as I do this. I still Band-Aid the leaf directly to a burn or cut for first aid use instead of using this since it does have some chemicals in it. By naturally moisturizing, there is no peeling and you can keep your tan much longer. This manufacturer also makes a very good sunblock, (though hard to find)goes on dry without scent. I apply this brand of aloe vera every morning over my entire body. You don't need expensive moisturizers, after shaves or anything else. I'm a true believer and only wish it were available in more stores in larger sizes. I use your aloe vera juice to keep my insides clean and your gel to keep my outside clean. It helps to heal wounds faster than any thing else. People need to know it's 100% GEL, not 100% ALOE VERA. How many aloe vera is in that "100% gel" is I don't know.
