I have tried them all and this was amazing at how well it worked. My lab was standing in a pile of hair like in the ads when I was done. And he did not look like he needed to be groomed when we started. I thought it was worth the price at [$], [$] is even better! There is less dog hair floating around my house now. The only thing I will mention is that you do have to use it sparingly as the instructions advise. Do not push down on the skin, do not use too often, be especially light handed on sensitive skin. Because the tool is razor sharp, it could be dangerous for both the pet and the user. I was very surprised not to find instructions, warnings, and suggestions on how to use this product and clean it. This product may work well better on short hair pets but with my long haired calico cat, I need to be careful to not use very much. The FURminator appears to be solidly constructed but rather expensive and should, at least, come with a series of instructions and warnings. After using it on a few occasions, I noticed that the shedding has decreased at least 75%. Moreover, my cat looks cleaner and even "slimmer" (he weights 20 pounds).However, it should be used with caution, since it can cause skin irritation on delicate areas, such as the pet's belly. When my large dog begins to shed I'd be lost without this tool. It gently removes all of the hair you need to remove. I'd suggest using this item outside since it works so well you'll end up with a bit of a mess. I highly recommend this product, and I'm very picky!
