The description says what it is--beginner yoga. It's designed to be effective for people just starting out, but also will carry you into increased flexibility. If you're looking for abs of steel, this isn't the DVD for you. I have neck and back pain from an injury and I find that if I do this DVD 4 times a week, it helps with weight management AND pain. The instructor moves through the poses at a pace that helps when just starting out, but is effective enough to see strength build and stamina increase.
