Comments about Garnier Fructis Haircare Fortifying Shampoo, Color Shield, 13 fl oz: I used Garnier Fructis for a few years. When I started coloring my hair to hide a few gray strands a couple years ago, I decided why not stick to Garnier...right? Well, my color never lasted as long as it was supposed to on the box, even though I would only wash my hair 2-3 times a week and didn't receive much sun exposure. Garnier Fructis Color Shield has pretty harsh ingredients in it. It cleans your hair well--almost too well, stripping it of all your hair's oils and life, along with the color. READ THE INGREDIENTS! Sodium lauryl sulfate is the 2nd ingredient listed, and it's a very harsh detergent. Sodium chloride is listed as one of the first ingredients too! Salt is not good for colored hair either. This shampoo touts itself as having fruit extracts (acai, grapeseed oil) but those are listed towards the very bottom. Not only that, I found the shampoo to be extremely watery. When I first started with Garnier Color Shield, I had a small bottle, didn't really realize it was harsh on my hair (just thought that every brand of hair color bled out quickly), and bought a larger bottle later. My hair is currently flat, sticky after washing (there's a film of gunk coating my strands). I've decided to make the switch to sulfate-free, which will be much gentler on hair. I think washing your hair with castile soap, even the kind found in Trader Joe's face wash, is better on your hair - I tried it and my hair felt better and lighter. Anyway, I'm ditching Garnier for an SLS-free brand.

Comments about Garnier Fructis Haircare Fortifying Shampoo, Color Shield, 13 fl oz: I use this product every other day for my permanently-colored hair. My area has extremely hard water and some shampoos do not clean hair very well. This shampoo cleans hair very well and does not strip color or highlights from it. It is gentle yet thorough. It smells wonderful but does not surround you with perfume clouds all day.

Cons Best Uses Comments about Garnier Fructis Haircare Fortifying Shampoo, Color Shield, 13 fl oz: I was using Tresemme products for protecting my hair color. They made my hair dry and lifeless. I have now been using Fructis products for several months, and I am very satisfied. My hair looks and feels better. I still have some Tresemme products left, and I recently went back to them just to use them up, and I am reminded that their performance compared to Fructis is lacklustre and disappointing. I wish now that I would have taken advantage of the sale prices that prevailed when I purchased Fructis the first time. I'm going for it now. In fact, I am considering trying some additional Fructis items - maybe in their skin care line.

Best Uses Comments about Garnier Fructis Haircare Fortifying Shampoo, Color Shield, 13 fl oz: Left a greasy, waxy buildup on my hair. Upon consulting my stylist, she said she sees and hears the same problem from Garnier Fructis users all the time. Not recommended!!! Took 5-6 washes with clarifying shampoo to get my hair back to normal after I realized it was my shampoo that I'd been using for about a month. Ick.

Comments about Garnier Fructis Haircare Fortifying Shampoo, Color Shield, 13 fl oz: Very nice shampoo, can't say for sure if it holds your color longer, but it doesn't strip the color out..so that's a plus. Just a nice shampoo so many to choose from but this one is a winner!
