I'm actually surprised by some of the negative reviews. I think this mousse is one of the better drugstore brands' I've used. I had my hair permed wavy/curly, and I need mousse to help me keep the curls. This mousse holds my curls pretty well, and my hair looks bouncy! My hair looks nice and not too stiff. It does make my hair a little crunchy, but not too bad. Overall, i think it's a mousse that I would recommend. The only thing I don't like about it is the smell, fortunately it's not strong, but I always wash my hands afterwards because I really don't like that smell.

I have fine, very curly hair, and I've played around with combinations of products for years. This mousse is able to control frizz and hold my hair without any stiffness. Love it!

This does absolutely nothing to add curl to hair. I scrunched my hair, which will normally curl very nicely if I dry it that way with a GOOD product for creaating curls. My hair is thick, naturally wavy, and will turn curly when I blow-dry, scrunch with a curl gel or mousse, and follow up with a little paste just to tame frizzies. This did NOTHING to create the curls while I was drying. Finesse's Curl Mousse is far superior, and doesn't stiffen & weigh down my hair like this did. My hair felt dirty quickly after using this product- and with my extremely thick & porous hair, that is highly unusual. I love most of the Garnier Fructis line- the Surf Paste, Extreme Hold Hairspray, Sleek & Shine Conditiner & their Brilliantine Spray is good. But this mousse is worthless.

Garnier Fructis products are hit or miss for me. I love their Surf Paste & Extreme Hold Hairspray for my extremely thick hair. I reside in MD, and humidity is a big factor, and we also have lots of wind, so hold is a big deal. This mousse creates hold, stiffens hair, adds shine, doesn't create deeper waves or curls for me in the least. So it's a mixture of pros & cons. Finesse's curl mousse was better at actually bringing out curl, but GF definitely smells better. The packaging is bright & fun. The mousse is very fluffy & easy to lose control of. It tames frizz, I will give it that. I like it, but gel seems better for my very thick hair- maybe a girl with thinner hair & truly curly hair would prefer this, as it's less heavy than gel (though it's heavy for a mousse on the hair, I will say).

I have long wavy hair and prefer not to use tons of product. All I have to do is scrunch my hair with this mousse after every shower and let it air-dry, and I get perfect beachy waves every time. Love it!

I have used this mousse for several years. Having compared it to other brands, this is the best for my very short spikey hairstyle. Only downside is that the dispenser top was redesigned a year or so ago and it is hard to use, especially when new. This has not made me change product, however.

I've got incredibly frizzy, curly hair. It's really fine, so a heavy product will weight it down quickly since it's also oily. This product worked really well for me. It had great hold without being sticky or brittle, didn't weigh down my hair, and smelled great without being over-powering. My curls stayed coiled and frizz-free with very little touch up all day. My only comment here is if you've got a nervous habit of brushing your hair back, it'll really bring the frizz out and be a bit hard to put back into place.

I have tried a lot of products for my curly hair and am a huge fan of this mousse. It keeps my curls healthy and tight without frizz or crunchiness, and I even like the smell. Also, my hair is not extremely thick, so I like that it seems to add a little extra volume and bounce. One of the other reviewers mentioned that they find this product heavy. I do not find that at all, but I think the key is to really shake the can well before you dispense and apply. If you are searching for the right product for curly hair (and at a great price, too!), I would definitely recommend trying this one.

This is the best mousse I've used so far for my curly hair. The product is heavy, however, so I only use this product if I plan on wearing my hair up. It helps keep definition so I don't have that straight hair to the ponytail then curly at the ends.
